SOURCE: Sony projection tv Model KP43HT20 won't turn on
Does Sony offer any kind of recall for this problem? It seems to be a common problem for this model of tv.
SOURCE: Six (6) blinks on the Timer/Standby led
6 blinks means lamp thermal fuse blowing, replace thermal fuse.

SOURCE: TV turned off by itself and now blinks red led 6 times
6 blinks means a low B error. Which is no DD 6volt output on G1 board . This will cause no picture and no sound. To fix this yourself you would need the manual to get the correct sequence to test and proper part to order. You can get a service manual for 10.99 at the following link and they will ask if you'd like it emailed to you after purchase. Here is the link,

SOURCE: Sony KF-50WE610 Tv won't turn on, red light blinks 6 times
3 times means Lamp and 6 means you have lost a voltage. You may have a thermal fuse blown.
This set has a common trouble with overheating caused by the drum fan located on top of the lamp housing clogged up with dust. When the lamp is getting old it runs hotter and that combined with the fan being clogged the thermal fuse blows. You must replace the lamp and thermal fuse. You must also clean out or replace the lamp fan. This drum type fan should be cleaned out every year or two depending on the environment.
