Unfortunately, the Lexmark website is set up so I can't provide you with direct links to the workaround for these problems....
Go here:

Do a search on "blinking flashing lights + Z12"
and try to follow the steps outlined in the troubleshooting guides that calls up.
This is the most likely candidate, but there are others that could cause this symptom:
Lights Flashing on the Printer ID: 241
Test the cartridges one by one and do the printer hardware test (refer to the relevant document for your printer) to establish which one is defective. The defective cartridge needs to be changed.
If the power light on the printer is blinking, you may have a carrier stall. To check this:
First unplug the printer.
Move the cartridges to the left by hand. In order to do this, you need to grip the top of the carrier belt (a black/grey belt with cog-like teeth) and pull it towards the right-hand side of the printer.
Once the cartridges have been moved across, you can clip them out.
Try to print without the cartridges in the carrier.
If you no longer have a carrier stall, put the cartridges back into the carrier and clip them into place.
I hope one of these options will provide you with the solution to your problem. If not, please write back with a report of what you tried and we will try to help you further.
If I have managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this posting....thanks!
