2gb SanDisk Micro SD Card only holding 500mb.

I have a 2gb card that I use in my Nokia 6234 cellphone. I use the SanDisk card reader to put music on the card. As soon as it gets to 499mb it get an error message: Cannot copy ___: The directory or file cannot be created.
I have re-formatted it and re-added the files, but everytime it gets to 499mb I get the same message.
Tried adding other format files and small but still will not.

I believe the Drive has gone Bad. It does happen where the system thinks th e whole drive is there, but the internal hardware just cannot access it.

SOURCE: Micro SD problem loading music

Just a guess, but I'm thinking the problem may lie in the format of the media. Try to format in FAT32. Also make sure that the full card is used ( don't do only 500mb or such ) FAT file system used to only allow a certain amount of space for
(F)ile (A)llocation (T)ables, and I think only a certain length of file names ( I'm thinking 8 character ), while FAT32 allows for 32 character file names, and allows for more FAT table information. I wouldn't ty NTFS if it does allow, as some portable devices do not read them, but fat and fat32 should be universal...

My sd memory card says its full but its really not

This may be the formatting type you have on the card. Is it NTFS (better) or FAT32 (not as efficient)?

Sandisk 8gig micro sdhc card

It is most likely because your card is a SDHC (NEW ) and your reader is just a SD.

The memory card for my phone is really small and I don't know how to use it with my computer lol

Did it come with a SD Adapter? If it did put the little micro sd card into the adapter and then get a memory card reader that hooks up to your computer through USB, they are available at most electronics sores for uner $20.00 dollars. then you will be able to move files to and from the card for your phone.

Hope this helps.

2gb micro sd From Sandisk printer won't read.

From what info I have gathered is that my card reader on my printer is old and will not read that big of card. so off to the computer store to buy a new card reader.

Where to I put the chip in my computer?

You may have to get a card reader that takes stuff off and puts stuff on the sd card that connects to the computer using a usb port because most computers do not have an area where you can insert the micro sd card.
