Can NOT get Kirby G6 shampooer system lowered to use

I am trying to use my Kirby G6 shampoo system for the first time; however I've owned the Kirby couple of years.

When all parts are attached, per instructions, can NOT get brushes lowered enough to shampoo carper. I raised front unit to install shampoo equipment but can not get unit lowered enough for brushes to touch carpet.

Have I attached something incorrectly? Salesperson demonstrated shampooer when he sold us unit & it worked then.

Take the attachments off and see if you can lower it then..if so .lower the vacuum and put the attachmens on then try

Kirby Manual

The spray gun instruction HERE but be very careful - try shampooing in an inconspicuous area first. This is essentially as if you would buy some of those "spray on" upholstery cleaners in an aerosol cans.
