Question about Pelican PL-2050 XBOX EDGE 2.4 GHZ WIRELESS CONTROLLER (PELPL2050)

1 Answer

Wireless not working

I bought a laptop computer with a wireless card in it. As soon as I got online, it kicked off my son from his xbox live 360. Since then he has not been able to get back on line.

I have called the cable company and the manufacturer of the wireless router. They say everything is ok on their end.

They say it has to be the Pelican product. My son is driving me crazy.

Any ideas?

Run the network tests from within the 360 menus - looking especially at the result for network address translation (NAT). If this is either limited or fail, you will need to change your router for one which is compatible with xbox live. Try xbox.com to work out which routers are recommended.

As far as your router kicking him when you connected your pc, then you must have altered the access permissions of the router maybe by accident.

If all else fails, turn off the pc, router, modem and 360. Find the reset button on your router and press/hold this for at least five seconds. Turn on the modem, then the router. Let that settle for a minute, then connect and setup 360 and laptop.

Do i need a xbox live card if i have wireless connection,

In order to play online via XBOX Live, you'll need to purchase a time card (1month, 3months, 12months, etc) to play online. So yes you'll need an xbox live card if your looking to play any games online.

Paid a years on xbox360 gold membership for my son, xbox is connected to live. I am connected for first month free but my son can not get connected.

Your son's xbox live account might have no permission to access online xbox gaming, to be able to check and correct this problem try following this steps:
  1. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
  2. Select Family Settings, Xbox LIVE Controls.
  3. Sign in using the e-mail address and password you used when you set up your child's Xbox LIVE account.
  4. Select Online Gameplay, Xbox 360 Online Games.
  5. Select Allowed or Blocked

My wireless computer will not work while son uses xbox live

It seems as if somehow you assigned the 360 to the same IP address as your wireless router. On any of the devices attempt to release the current IP and grab a new one.

My son just bought an xbox 360 pro yesterday and hardwiring it is a little inconvenient. we have a netgear router and adapter on one of our computers...could we just use it instead of buying the xbox...

If your son has a laptop/PC that is near to his 360 you can just use the Ethernet cable supplied and plug it into the Xbox and Laptop/PC and that will work

XBOX Live & Netgear Router Help!!!!!!!!!!!

You need a excellent signal to your Xbox. Xbox requires a constant connection. My son as an Xbox and we had to run a wire connection to the Xbox no problems after that. Or you need to move your wireless router to the same room as your xbox to get a stronger connection.

Xbox 360 live on wireless router

In theory you should be able to "share" your internet connection. I use a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router and I have a Linksys Game adapter on my son's 360. He has not complained about lag or slow server times unless other intensive bandwidth is being used.

Make sure ethernet cable from XBOX 360 is connected to one of the 4 access ports on the back of the router.

Hooking up xbox live

Well, it's very possible if you are using a wireless router that your connection may not be strong enough. XBOX Live and most online gaming requires a steady. strong, high bandwith connection. A weak singnal, OR someone else using up the bandwith (i.e. someone downloading music on another computer connected to your router) can cause the problem.
If you're using a wireless connection, try moving the router and wireless game adapter closer to each other.
If you're using a hardwire connection from one of the routers outgong ports then make sure other's aren't on the internet (Or at least aren't using alot of bandwith) while XBOX Live is being used.
Please remember also that if you have a wireless network and you haven't implimented wireless secruity (i.e. WEP or WPA encryption) then your network is "Open" and anyone within range can connect and use up your bandwith,

Xbox 360 wireless connection

If you already have wireless router you will need something like this:

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360wirelessnetadapter/

Or you can always buy a third party wireless device that is capable with Xbox 350.
