The tv went blank so i unplugged it bwaited than plugged it back in turn on the power the red light came on blinking than went solid but nothing on the screen

Thirst thing to try is take the batterys out of the remote and push all of the buttons to get any electric static for say 3 to 5 minutes if that don't work try to see if your remote signal works by using your iphone and take a few photos of the remote beam when pressing ,or the remote in the tv might have gone. Ps happened to me
It could be the conection ribbon between the T com and main board remove carefully clean and replace ,it should do the trick if still the same then most likely T -com
Hi, you failed to mmention what make and model the tv is. But it sounds to me like a Samsung from experience. If it is then you need someone to check the power supply capacitors. The ones with bulging tops are faulty and need replacing. If it isnt a samsung, still look on the power supply pcb for signs of this and you will be on the right track.
yeah, should stay red when unit is turned off, indicating there's power but it's doing nothing.
Per user manual:
Solid red - power off (standby mode)
blinking red - power off (now cooling)
blinking green - power on (preparing to light lamp)
solid green - power on
already did that and the tv stays blank
