Rangemaster Kitchener 90 Dual Fuel has tripped the RCD when using the main oven?

Question edited for clarity.

There are three reasons this can happen.

The electric element has blown a hole in itself and is grounding out.
The fan has failed and grounding.
A wire connector to either has come off and grounded, or worn through and grounded.

I have an aeg d2100-4-m oven. main lower oven not getting hot. Have replaced element, to no avail.Fan and light in oven both come on, but have noticed that the temperature dial light is not illuminating....

Hi .
Sounds like the oven thermostat is faulty.,
This gives a supply to the element .
The temp indicator should be lit, if it is not, then I would suggest repl;acing the oven thermostat.

Cooker oven not working - replaced bulb. Hot plates still work.

This tutorial will show you how to check your Zanussi element and how to replace your Zanussi cooker element.
Here are the 3 main faults to look for in your oven or cooker that is not heating
  1. Your oven will not work until the clock/timer has been re-set after replacing an oven element or tripping the electrical supply. Consult your Zanussi manual.
  2. If you're Oven is not getting hot or heating up it could be a faulty element, if the fan in the oven is running and the thermostat light is on, this will lead us to believe that the element has gone faulty. With grills the thermostat light should come on there should be heat, if not then this could be the grill element or the thermostat.
  3. When you turn the oven on, the household electrical supply trips on the Rcd (this is the earth trip in the fuse board sometimes called the breaker tripping) your fan oven element has gone to earth and needs replacing.

Problem solved, took the back off the inside of oven and the element had a huge burn hole in it. Brought a new element from the local spares shop £17+vat. Easy to fit and it works better than ever.

Fan assisted oven not working

If the fan is still working then it is the element that has gone. This is easily replaced as you only need to remove the back panel and swap the the element.
