The side sprayer sticks open and will not close so water comes out of the sprayer when it sticks and never out of the faucet. (The sprayer will not shut off when it sticks.) The sprayer is only 5 years old.
The diverter in the main body of the faucet is sticking. I have included a link to all the kitchen faucets. You will have to determine which one you have but they pretty much use the same housings and guts for each of their single handle faucets. You might have to do a little research on your end so you can find info on how to replace the diverter. It's usually not hard to do.

Ok then the only thing left is the actual sprayer. The diverter and the sprayer are the only two things that can cause this. Unless, debris has gotten caught in the diverter again. How old is your water heater? I ask this because they are the 1 cause of debris in faucets. As a water heater ages, the lining starts to degrade and is sloughed off into the faucets. If you remove the aerator and see white particles, then this is typically from the water heater. Also lime and mineral deposits can be washed into the faucet as well. Hope this helps!
Well, you can take everything apart and check the diverter again or just replace the sprayer. Also, I'm not sure your exact model but you can remove the sprayer from under the faucet and if you have a threaded connection, cap it off and force the water to go through the spout. Also, before you do that, have you removed the aerator from the spout and tried running the water without it on? If the aerator is stopped up, then it acts just like a diverter as well.
