SOURCE: No sound from my Logitech headset when on SKYPE
Maybe you need to select which Audio device you are using within Skype. It the Settings under Audio you should be able to select the default audio device that Skype talks to. If you set it to the USB headset, it might work properly.

Have you tried changing the Audio Device that windows is using?
Under the Sound and Audio Devices in the ontrol Panel. Under the Audio tab, try the Default Device under Sound playback. Change this to the headphones.

I've had this happen twice with Logitech headsets and believe it has to do with the cheap/fine wire they use in the cables. I suspect that a good tug on the cable will snap the wire or some other internal connection.

I have checked the right option under audio devices is selected and microphone seems to work ok, just can't hear anything. I even tried uninstalling the driver and then reintalling it but still nothing
