Hi Alchik. Lightning hits can affect all and everything, Murphies Law says that until you have replaced all control electronics, the fault will continue to pester you. Is there any part of the system that has not yet been replaced? Because that is probably going to be the course you have to set for yourself. I loath acts of God when it comes to electronics.
You can go to your GPS page and zoom out and then using your cursor pad and move your cursor so it is in the general area of your coordinates. Start zooming in andifferent as you do the the lat, long readings on your screen will become more precise. Continue to adjust your cursor position so the coordinates match up with known position you have. Continue until the cursor position on screen and your known coordinates match.
Push "ENTER" twice. Your way point will be saved at the current position of the cursor.
OR
Push your cursor pad to bring up your crosshairs on the GPS screen. Save that waypoint, then go in and edit the coordinates to match your location data and save it. The waypoint you created will move to the new coordinates.
Hi, a waypoint is used to mark a point of interest for location purposes only whether it be for fish, hazards or a boat ramp etc. it is not intended to replace common sense. Your navionics card if purchased will show land masses, shallow waters, channel markers and known hazards. Regards Phil.
There are too many variables that will affect the GPS to determine if the Garmin is off or the other plotter. The only way to verify the GPS is through controlled simulation or using waypoint averaging and survey benchmarks to confirm the location.
I think you use the NMEA output to the autopilot .
The plotter shows you only when you have a seatalkconection with a Raymarine autopilot on you Plotter
