My insignis is-tv040919 is about two years old. I turned it on today and there is a thin line in the middle of the screen that is obviously the picture and the rest is black.
I have a Mitsubishi CS-27205 that was purchased in 1994.
It's a great television, (15 years old)
but today, I turned it on and also have the same problem:
thin horizontal line of color where the picture should be.
Rest of the screen is black.
Can not find anything in the troubleshooting guide relating to this type of problem.

The problem is in the vertical section of the main board. Bad capacitors and maybe the vertical IC. If you are not inclined to be a tech you will have to take it to a shop.. I don't know what they may charge but I normally get $69- $89

Do you think this is something that I could fix? (I've been laid off since November, so I don't have the extra cash to get it fixed).
I'll look through my manual and see where the main board is, and google the rest and try to have a go at it!
