Lost Admin password for SSL-VPN 2000

Access your router by entering your IP address into the IP address tool bar at the top of the page. The linksys address is 192.168.1.1.You will be prompted to enter the user name & password. Enter admin for user name and admin for the password. It will probably update firmware automatically and you will now have unrestricted access to the system's utility software including change of password.

1. Choose a laptop or WiFi device that is currently connected to your network. If none of your devices are connected, use an Ethernet cable and connect a computer or laptop directly to your wireless gateway.
2. Open a web browser and go to the Admin Tool (http://10.0.0.1) - this is the wireless gateway's administration site. The default settings are:
   • Username: admin
   • Password: password (case-sensitive)
     
   • Note: If you changed your Admin Tool password previously, you will need to use your new login information. If you don't remember your Admin Tool password, you will need to factory reset your wireless gateway. Instructions on how to do this can be found by reviewing the wireless gateway user guides at Wireless Gateway Guides.
3. On the left navigation menu, select Gateway, then Connection and then Wi-Fi.
   
4. Under Private Wi-Fi Network, you'll see the Name (SSID) of your WiFi network. (You may want to write down this information.)
   • Wireless Gateway 1 customers, click EDIT at the right.
   • Wireless Gateway 2 customers, click EDIT for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands to view the settings for each. ?
     
5. Check the box next to Show Network Password. The Network Password (Network Key) will be displayed above. (You may want to write down this information.)
   
   • On this page, you can also edit your wireless network information, including changing your Network Name (SSID) or Password (Network Key). If you make any changes, remember to click SAVE SETTINGS.
6. Now that you have your Network Name (SSID) and Password (Network Key), you can connect your WiFi devices to your network.
7. If you have changed any information, use the new information to reconnect all your WiFi devices to your network.

Unfortunatly there is no way to do a password recovery, You will have to do a full reset and set it up the way you want it all over again. Be sure to write down each step you do while setting it up again so if this situation should arise again you will be able to easily follow your own step by step instructions to set it back up exactly the way you want it.

Are you speaking about the wireless network password?
For this you will need to access the setup page of the router?
Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.
open the setup page of the router.
Go to wireless tab and change the wireless settings.
If you want to change the ' Router ' password then go to administration tab and change the router password.

Login to the default router config page from your desktop pc. This is usually plugged straight into the router via a network cable. Go to http://192.168.1.1 in w web browser. Default login is usally "Admin/Admin" or "Admin/Password" keep trying different combos.

You may may have no choice but to "Reset" the router. The button is on the back of it. Just press it and hold it

If you have never changed this from default then the user name will be "admin" & the password will be "password" or "admin. If you google the default password for Your router model then that shoud find it if this does not work. Don't forget to rate me if this works for you.

unplug router on the back is a reset hole use a pen or paperclip and press for 30 seconds this will set the unit back to factory settings

you have forgotten your LinkSys router password, the easiest thing to do is to reset your router to the factory default settings.
To restore the router configuration to factory defaults, hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds.
Once your router is hard reset, you will need to login and reconfigure it again.
To reconfigure your LinkSys, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router Password: Admin
On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."
Once you are past the login screen, you are able to reconfigure the LinkSys router

hey buddy u need to press the reset button only for 3-5 sec( it look like a hole u have to use a pin to reset it. it is located at the bottom of the modem.) don't press the button more then that otherwise it won't get reset. once it get reset go back to the modem page this try admin as user name & leave the password blank. if case if it doesn't work with that try admin as user name & admin password or admin as user name & password as password.

Emergency Boot CD is a download you can find many places. Burn to CD and then boot off of CD, it has an option to change user passwords, including Administrator.

I actually used the Admin reset functionality. I fix computers for my church, and whoever used the computer last put a admin password on it and then left the church. I was able to reset and get back to a working computer without any problems. Works great.
