LCD I now have vertical lines on the LCD screen,
though I still have sound from the tape. I cannot get the pictures from the memorey strip either.
Before this I had watched some of the tape and it was fine. Then when I started it again
The screen was clear, but I had sound. now it's the vertical lines.
Is there something I can do about it?
I have the same problem. It was working well - I took it travelling to outback Australia and had it on and off regularly. No problems, Then all of a sudden it began cutting out - blank black screen. Now when I turn it on - coloured vertical lines. No picture. Or white screen with no Menu function etc. Can still get sound and forward/ reverse the tape etc. but after 3 hours of taping it is unusable. When I move the Small screen it changes the colours etc from lines to white etc.I have the same problem. It is a common problem for the LG model. The problem
is defective LED back lights ASSY. You have to open the display panel & replace the burned LED strips.

Had the same problem used weather stripping to secure the tape carrier package to the screen bond there is no real way to fix this only to use pressure to keep the TCP against the edge of the LCD these Samsung had a bonding issue ,the repair shops will replace the whole panel
it would be easier to find it stripped from a damaged set on ebay. I see several there but need the part number to search of course you may purchase that and find it to be the lcd driver.hopefully not.
Unfortunately the only thing that usually fixes this is replacing the LCD. If you open it up, you will see a white strip of tape and cables on the top, back of the LCD screen. This is the most fragile part of the LCD and is most likely where the damage is. Sometimes you can find this piece by itself, but usually you can't purchase it separately.
Elakkis,
I am sorry you are having a problem with your JVC camcorder. Your camera more than likely has a defective CCD imager which is being replaced by JVC factory service at no charge because of a problem with the Sony CCD chip being used. Call JVC and arrange to send the camera to them.
Hope this helps you!
