The pull cord on my homelite mighty lite 26b blower is stuck in the "pulled out" position. It won't return to the coiled (in) position so I can't pull it to start it.

SOURCE: will not start

Homelite leaf blowers that use whats called a half crankshaft system are prone to many problems. Whats a half crank system you ask? If there is a small aluminum plate that attaches to the side of the engine by the gas tank you have one of these. Usually held on with 4 small bolts. I just got rid of a Homelite Vac Attack 2 that had spark and compression but the compression checked low about 75 should be 90 or better. What happened, a head bolt came loose and the engine ran lean causing the fragile rings on the piston to heat up and when that happens they loose their outward spring that seals against the cyclinder walls. A simple compression check using a gauge and not your finger will tell you that. Other causes could be less than normal spark, or maybe the exhaust port under the muffler has carbon build up or the muffler is plugged up also Check all bolts, and nuts to make sure they are tight.

SOURCE: gas leaf blower runs at half speed

First you will have to get a carburetor kit ,it consists of diaprams and inlet needle, you then remove the two srews that hold carburetor on the engine and remove gas lines, also the throttle cable remove screws that hold ends of carburetor on under these you will find the diaphrams and needle remove these be carefull not to loose the little spring under the needle lever.
!get you a can of carburetor cleaner and spray carburetor the blow it out with air you will notice little jets in carburetor that have to be clean use a wire from a bread tie to clean them out install new gaskets and diaprams in same position you took old ones off.you can also look at carburetor to see what kind it is walbor, zama, tilloson? type the name in google search and can get a diagram of carburetor if you loose your place,or just ask me.

SOURCE: I have a Homelite Mighty Lite 26cs gas weed

This is somewhat common in the the "zip start" machines. The recoil pulley is 2 plastic housings with a round coil spring between them. It is designed to need less effort to pull and start the machine. When pulled on with great effort/frustration, the middle spring bends and damages the upper housing. The only semi-permanent solution is to replace the pulley assembly. The part is relatively cheap thru Homelite.com. If you can do it yourself, go for it. A repair shop will most likely charge you $20 to $40 in labor to do this.

SOURCE: My Homelite Mighty Lite 26b

Homelite wants to sell you a new carburetor assembly. Your blower came equipped with a RuiXing brand carb. RuiXing does not offer any repair parts for their carbs, only replacement units.
Now for the good news....a Zama brand primer bulb fits perfectly on the RuiXing carbs. Check with your local small engine repair shop for a Zama primer bulb. The blower requires removal af the carb to get at both of the screws that hold on the bulb. It is not difficult, just one nut holds on the outer airbox cover...don't lose the little washers. Then one long stud and one short screw will take the carb off. Replace the primer bulb and reinstall everything the same way it came off.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Homelite mighty lite 26bv gas Blower won't run full speed or only in Full Choke

Sounds like a lean condition. Rebuild carb, replace fuel lines and fuel filter and you should be ready to blow the leaves.

After turning of engine. Starter pull cord stuck.

The recoil spring that rewinds the cord may have broken of pulled loose from its mooring.
