LG 42LC70 problems right out of the box

Just purchased this, and hooked up my XBox 360 using component connectors. The system loads up fine (looks great too!) but after a bit it will seem to lose its connection and go to all black screen, or screen with vertical red lines or a checkerboard red/black screen.

How do I hook up Xbox 360 to the HDTV

Step 1:

Connect the audio/video input of the component cable into the "A/V" port located on the back of the xbox 360

Step 2:

Match the red, blue and green cables on the other end of the component cable to the corresponding component ports on your HDTV. If your HDTV has more than one set of component inputs, make note of which one you use.

Step 3:

Slide the switch on the component cable to "HDTV."

Step 4:

Turn on your HDTV. Set the video mode to the component port that will be used. HDTVs with multiple component ports will usually be labeled "Component 1," "Component 2" and so on

Step 5:

Turn on the Xbox 360. Go to "My Xbox." Select "System Settings" then "Console Settings" then "Display" and then "HDTV Settings." Choose the display setting (720p, 1080i and 1080p) that is best compatible with your HDTV. If you're not sure, try them all until you find the one that looks best.

Step 6:

Disconnect any previously connected A/V or component cables.

Step 7:

Connect the HDMI AV cable connector to the "HDMI AV" port on the Xbox 360.

Step 8:

Connect the other end to an available HDMI port on your HDTV. If your HDTV has more than one HDMI input, make note of which one you use.

Step 9:

Turn on your HDTV. Set the video mode to the HDMI port that will be used. HDTVs with multiple component ports will usually label them "HDMI 1," "HDMI 2" and so on.

Step 10:

Turn on the Xbox 360. Go to "My Xbox." Select "System Settings" then "Console Settings" then "Display" and then "HDTV Settings." Pick the display setting (720p, 1080i and 1080p) that looks best on your HDTV.

Can you use an xbox arcade on flatron LG L1810T? If so which setting does it have to be on as the tv is not recognising the xbox at all

HI,
Your LG LCD monitor has a white DVI connector for connecting the signal cable.

You would reqire either an HDMI to DVI(male connector cable for the xbox) so that you can hook the hdmi cable to the xbox and other end to your monitor.
The cable would look something like this

White stripes on tv screen

Could be either really, you are using the component cables that came with the console correct? The lines look identical on both screens? If so then you are on the right track but I would lean towards the xbox360 being the culprit. I would bring your 360 into a local video game store and nicely ask them if they could hook it up to one of their TVs (they have them to test consoles people trade in), with their component cables and see if they have the problem as well. If they do you know it's the xbox and not the cables, if they don't then it sounds like you have a cable problem.

Is there any way to run an Xbox 360 through it to

if you hook up a fiber optic cable from your main dvd component thingy straight to your tv, then all sound from tv will come out the left and right front speaker and sub woofer. only downside is your center and rear speakers wont be in use, but its better than nothing. your tv of course has to have an input for the fiber optic cable.

When connecting XBOX live to LG flatscreen there is no video only

There should be a switch on the cable that says HDTV/TV if you are using component connections, make sure that the switch is set to HDTV.

Sony str-dg820. having a problem getting video on tv

Hook up Composite / Component Monitor Out wire from receiver to TV video input because receiver will not change analog input into HDMI
You need to connect receiver and TV through analog video terminals as above.
Actually you are expecting that receiver will convert DVD player and Xbox analog video input into digital HDMI signal for TV and This is incorrect.

YPbPr inputs not working

Tacz, What video input# on the back of the TV is your component video?? Are you sure the TV is set to look at that video input#??? You may be looking at one of the composite video inputs as far as the TV is concerned and with nothing plugged in to that input the TV would naturally give the error message you indicated. Let me know.. Bill
