How to erase messages on land line Panasonic phone answering machine Model # KX-TG885SK ?

Do you want to erase all messages? Are you looking at the handset, the base or are you calling the KX-TG885SK remotely?

1) At the base, press Erase during playback of a message to delete the current message. To erase all messages from the base, press Erase twice when the phone system is in standby mode (no active calls/incoming calls).

2) From a handset, use the menu to access the Answering Device sub menu and choose play new message or play all messages. (Alternatively, press Menu # 3 2 3 to play new messages or Menu # 3 2 4 to play all messages.) During playback of a message, press * 4 or pause the message. After pausing the message, highlight Erase and press Select. Confirm this. To erase all messages, choose Erase All messages (Menu # 3 2 5) and follow the prompts to confirm (highlight Yes and press Select). You can also press * 5 to erase all messages from the Answering Device sub menu.

3) During a remote call, *4 and * 5 work as above when using the handset.

See pages 70, 71, and 74 in the operating manual. The manual is available on the Add-on Handset page: https://shop.panasonic.com/cordless-corded-telephones/telephone-handsets/KX-TGFA61B.html . The current link to the manual is http://help.panasonic.ca/viewing/ALL/KX-TG885SK/OI/TG885SK_PNQP1397ZA/TG885SK_PNQP1397ZA.pdf .

I hope this helps.

How do you clear answering machine model number KX_TGD220?

To clear the answering machine messages on the Panasonic KX-TGD220C, start with the phone in standby (no calls on any handset). Press Menu (the right hand soft-key) and use the Up/down arrows to navigate to Answering device. Press Select (see the LCD screen).

If you press 4, you will start playing back the latest message. Press * 4 to erase the current message being played. (The * key is below 7 on the keypad.) To erase all messages, press * 5 . (Pressing 5 plays all messages.)

You can also erase messages by pressing Pause. Then use the Up/Down arrows to select Erase. Press Select and then use the arrows to choose Yes. Press Select again. Alternatively, you can use a shortcut to erase all messages. Press in order: Menu # 3 2 5 followed by highlighting Yes. Press Select to confirm and press Off to exit the menu system. (The # key is below the 9 on the keypad.) The * 4 and * 5 commands work when you use remote access to the answering system, as well.

These steps are available in the manual on pages 31-32. The manual is available from Panasonic here: ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/telephone/om/kx-tgd210_mul_om.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Unfortunately not. Once it's gone, it's gone. These phones were not designed to hold onto things the way a computer hard drive would.
Go easy on the old man, though, mistakes happen.

The pre recorded message on the answering machine has been lost.

I read thru the manual. There is nothing bout recovery of factory messages. If you recorded your own, try deleting it. Or unplug the base from power and try a reset. This is from the manual. At the end, I gave you a link to the manual!

Using a pre-recorded greeting
message
If you erase or do not record your own
greeting message, the unit plays a prerecorded
greeting message for callers
and asks them to leave messages. If the
message recording time (page 39) is set
to “Greeting only”, caller messages
are not recorded and the unit plays a
different pre-recorded greeting message
asking callers to call again.
