Question about Lexar FireFly 2GB USB 2.0 JumpDrive

On OSX, drive not showing up, light still works

I am running 10.4.1off a MacBook. My flash drive was working fine earlier today, but when I tried to put it in tonight, the light on the end kept blinking but the computer sees nothing.
It's not that it isn't just showing up on the desktop. I tried to see it through the Disk Utility, but the Disk Utility screen just keeps showing the "Gathering disk information" message, without seeing anything while the drive is in.
Please help- I'm a student with a lot of homework on this thing.
Thanks for your time.

Put your OSX disc in, if that loads then you need to have your hard drive looked at, the operating system may also need to be reinstalled. But first, have a tech look at it.

I have an Antec external hard drive. Earlier today it was working fine but now it won't run at all. The light on the plug-in is green but there's no "whirring" sound like it usually has and the computer...

the fact that it is not working on two machines suggests it may have become faulty. If the lead between machines is a separate one (usb to drive connection) try using another one to make the connection. Leads do not last forever either.

Why does my SSD cause the beach ball of death on OSX?

Try a NRAM/PRAM/SMC reset.

The best thing is to get a copy of OSX 10.8 3, load it to a flash drive or burn to disk, then secure erase the SSD with the erase tool from Crucial, do a fresh install of OSX.

Then do a reset of these again, its the best way to get the system working with no problems.

That is a good SSD.

Just google NRAM/PRAM/SMC RESET and read how for your Macbook pro.

Then get a small external drive for backups, so you can secure erase the drive when needed.

Remember Apple turns off TRIM when its not one of their SSD's, so you need to give the drive time to use garbage collection.

You can Google TRIM enabler, but if you have any problems after installing it and turning it on, just turn it off.

I have no problems with it.

A new update for 10.8.3 is coming soon to public, beta 12D76 is working great.

you just mite have no more room on your macbook. if you do then it also could be that the files are protected or cant be read by the system. try to open up the files on your memory stick and copy and past or drag and drop see if that dose any different effect.

Running mac osx my acomdata external drive lights

This is the solution that worked for me.
Luckily I have another external drive of the exact same model that is working fine.
I used the power supply from the good working model and plugged it into the bad drive. The bad drive booted right up. Evidently the power supply was the issue, not the drive itself.
Even though the bad power supply had enough juice to light up the drive, it was not able to make the drive spin correctly.

Showing ? on my macbook montor

The '?' on the monitor is because the computer can't find an operating system.
Start up from the OSX disc and run 'Disc Utility' from 'Utilities' on the toolbar.
Select the hard drive from the left hand box and run 'First Aid' to attempt repair.
If this fails you will need to replace the hard drive and reinstall OSX

Macbook is booting up, with sound but no display

Start up from the OSX CD. (Hold down the 'C' key during start up). Run 'Disc Utility' from the 'Utilities' menu. If the hard drive is recognized by 'Disc Utility', select the drive in the left hand column and run 'First Aid' to repair ant problems.
If the hard drive is not recognized or 'First Aid' fails to repair the disc, you will need to format the drive or even replace it and re-install OSX.
