You have to update the software via Blackberry Desktop Manager. Timing is key as it maynot work the first time... It may take 20-50 tries but this is the only way to get it back up. If you can indeed get it back up everything will be erased. Sorry for the bad information.

Your Blackberry probably just needs a firmware restore. Here's a guide on how to restore the blackberry firmware, the website is at : Restore Blackberry to factory settings. Download the Blackberry Desktop manager and run the application loader.

Trying to find out if anyone can help me with this problem:
I have a Blackberry 7290 that displays an error message "error 373" it also displays "reset" at the bottom. The indicator light is lit continueously red and I'm trying to find out how I can upload my stored information from this Blackberry to my new phone - the Blackberry Bold.

If you don't know your lock code, unfortunately, due to the security level of blackberries, the only way to get back in is to enter the wrong code in 10 times, then enter in "blackberry" The phone will wipe itself clean, deleting all your data, and then work again. The downside, is that the phone doesn't always do this wipe method correctly, and may come back on saying "JVM ERROR xxx. RESET" where xxx is some number. At that point, you will need to perform a low level install by plugging your storm into you computer, with blackberry desktop manager installed, open command prompt (start>run>cmd) and type the following.

cd\
cd program files\common files\Research in Motion\AppLoader
loader /NOJVM

BEFORE ANYTHING !!!! use the desktop software to backup your data (because you will be erasing ALL DATE on the device) on the BB (if you can) and save the file to the desktop. next go to https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=577BCC914F9E55D5E4E4F82F9F00E7D4you need to download (use pull down menu)blackberry desktop software 4.6 and the blackberry devicesoftware (FOR YOUR MODEL PHONE) install the desktop software first thenthe device software.. this can take maybe an hour (not including thedownload time) once your done use your desktop software to restore yourdata
