I have an Olympus VN-90 digital voice recorder that isn't powering on. I have tried new batteries, checked battery contacts but have not opened up the case. Previously, when my batteries died I would just replace the batteries and power would immediately be restored and I would not lose anything I may have recorded on the device. Is this type of device able to be repaired or is there a way to recover my recorded notes from whatever media it uses? Thank you.

Back up and running!! I decided to take this little puppy apart and see what things look like under the hood. It turns out one of the battery contacts came loose and wasn't making proper contact. This little workhorse of a recorder still has some life in it.
