Question about Audiovox CDM8940VW
As of carrying it in a thunderstorm, my phone doesnt turn off without taking out the battery. If the battery goes completely dead, it is a challenge to get it to turn on and to make contact with the charger and start charging. I tried a "new" battery and the charge hold time is about the same as my old battery so I suspect it is not new but used. I did not buy it from VERIZON where I got my phone. My phone is AUDIOVOX CDM8940
1.Check the device's battery level for at least two bars of strength.
2.If the battery level is low, charge the battery.
3.If the issue is not resolved, remove the back cover.
4.Remove the battery.
5.Wait 10 seconds.
6.Press and hold the W key.
7.While pressing down the W key, re-insert the battery.
•The device restarts and after approximately 15 seconds, the 'Recovery' screen appears
•Release the power button but *continue holding the home button*, for another 30 seconds.

This is not likely a battery issue but is indicative of a phone that has gotten wet or has been infected with a virus or has other software issues. We work on cellular phones and would be willing to look at your phone to see if the phone numbers and pictures can be retrieved. Call 1-800-297-5550 and speak with Debby, 9 - 5, M - F, EST for shipping info. You can also contact Audiovox in NY to arrange for out-of-warranty repairs but they will not save your data as a part of the repairs.

if there is a sim card slot on any cell you can use the phone...just one thing might stand in your way (do the starcom say verizon on it...you may need to have this cell unlocked) most carrier do that...but put the sim in now and call your house phone to see if it works or not...
