i bought a new UNLOCKED phone (SE C902) and have tried both a Voda and O2 sim in it, bith produced an "inactive sim" error. I was advised to get a new sim incase mine was just out of date and doing this provided me with the same error...is there anyway to fix this with out sending it back??
puk code, personal unlocking key. It is sim card related / specific, if
you take the sim card out from the phone, the phone will work with
another sim card.
The puk comes up when the pin code has been
entered wrong 3 times. To get the puk code for your sim card, you have
to call the service provider of that sim card. They are the only ones
who can provide you with the right puk code for that sim card.
The puk code may also have came with the documentation of the sim card, if its a prepaid card the puk code comes on the documents or on the box of the product. if your unable to obtain the puk code, get a new sim card.
also entering the puk
code wrong too many times will eventually ruin the sim card forcing you
to buy or contact your service provider for a new sim card.
mate this happened to me aswell. first type in *#06# and tell me what comes up. If you have all zeros as your IMEI number you will need to have the IMEI number reset to the original one. this can be done from a mobile phone ulocking shop.
Sounds like your phone is restricted to Vodafone. Each network generally puts a lock in the software to stop other network sims being used in it. If you know your phone is unlocked (sim free) then it could be that you have not activated your Orange sim card? Check the instructions that came with your Orange sim as i am sure that you need to call Orange to activate it? Hope that helps?
