I have a 42'' Vizio plasma TV and I want to connect my Aiwa surround sound receiver using the audio video inputs. I have my HD DVR connected via HDMI cable. I can get sound coming from only to speakers on my receiver. To me it looks like their are not enough inputs to connect the receiver. I could be putting the cables in the wrong place, could someone provide assistance. Thanks!

Sounds like you may have connected the cables incorrectly, or the cable may me bad. The cable company likely provided you with component video cables, which are red green and blue. Ensure that these are connected to the correct plugs on both ends of the cables.
If that does not fix the issue, I would ask for a replacement cable or box.
You may also be interested in buying an HDMI cable if your box supports it.
SOURCE: Close captioning on HDMI
The TV will not display closed caption with HDMI input. It must either over-the-air (antenna) or composite input for the TV to manage CC.
To get CC with HDMI from your Comcast DVR, you need to configure the cable box. Instructions can be found here:

If you want CC all of the time, this works well. But since you must power-off the cable box to change the setting, switching CC on and off is a real pain.
Your set-up is similar to mine (Sharp Aquos 46" and Comcast DVR). I have the composite output from the cable box going to a DVD-recorder and on to the TV. Whenever I need CC (usually to catch some mumbled dialog), I just rewind the DVR, and switch the TV input to the composite input. Then I switch back to HDMI to continue watching in HD.

Hello
Before taking this to a local repair person, I suggest you check with your cable provider. See if they are having trouble with their HD transmission and then have them test your lines. Out here in Arizona with have constant problems with HD due to heat, rodents and poor installations. Your DVR only recorded the problems that were on your set. If these prove fruitless then take the TV to a reputable repair person.
Good Luck

If you remove the back and look at the power supply you will find a couple of electrolytic caps, that are bulged and need to be replace, and that will take care of your problem.. Also you can purchase a new power supply and just change it out.
