How do i assign numbers to flex buttons

I have a similar phone, the IP8830. Press the button to the left of the round button (looks like a cog) . This is the configuration menu key. Press 1 then 2 and get your IP. Once you have your IP, enter it in your web browser so it looks like this (http://192.168.1.200:8000) . The default user name on mine is "private" and the default password is "lip" . Once you are logged in you can go to "Phone Settings" and set the number of lines on the keys. Next you can go to "Programmable Keys" to set your BLF and Speed Dial Keys. I am using SIP firmware with a Asterisk PBX so yours may be different. My firmware version is "1.1.04spbx_a" .

Nbx 2101

You can't. The 1100 and 2100 series 3Com phones aren't SIP phones. Only the 3100 series phones can be used.

1st. Get the IP address of the phone. and type that into browser.
*- default user: Polycom / password: 456

*- Under menu SIP, type in your voip provider
*-Under menu LINES type in user info and "secret" should be your password.

Make sure your ports are open (SIP is usually 5060) you can change it in that same config screen.

Can I use a CISCO IP 7941 phone, that has been on a company network, in my home? Should it just work by plugging in a telephone connection and using the appropriate power supply? Is there programming that...

Yes, there is programming which would need to be removed. However, you would need a cisco call manager($800) at home. Unless of course you have voip in your home. then you could just set it to DHCP I'm assuming and then it should just work!

Lost the IP from spa901

Hi!

Try this:

Press ****110#

Once you pressed the asterisk symbol four times (*) you should hear an IVR then press 110# and it will tell you it's IP address.

Hope this helps!

Reseting to default Firmware!!!

If you are saying that there is a mistake with the firmware, you are in serious trouble. Firmware in most cases cannot be restored if there is a problem with upgrades or installs.

IP 7920 & Asterisk

I believe I saw somewhere that the 7920 works best with the 4.02 version of firmware... only hitch is you can't get it unless you have a valid Cisco login with access to their voice stuff. You could see if your local partner could get it for you otherwise. Also, I think you need the cradle to upgrade the phone manually - otherwise you need a TFTP server set up and the proper keywords in the cnf.xml file. There is better info on voip-info.org about these sccp phones - god I wish they (Cisco) would release a SIP firmware for these things!

Try to manually reset the phone - **#"Settings" (this will unlock the configuration) + Network + menu under number "33" - erase the configuration. Then the phone configuration will be erased. Also you can manually set IP address and TFTP server
