Please dont ask me iam colour blind ,but to overcome this i use a multimeter or a little light and test for current this way ,going by the so called wiring colours is a disaster for me not only the colour thing but the wireing can change colours owing to different suppliers of looms in manufacture ,they run out of one colour and use another ?? you name it i think i have seen it

get a cheap 12 volt test ($6 any parts store) light and have someone operate the different lights while u proble the wires, when the test light illuminates you tag that wire for what circuit was activated, brake, running, turn etc.

I had the same problem with my 2002 Silverado last summer when I first bought my boat and was getting the trailer ready to go. Like an idiot, I rewired the boat trailer on that side before I decided to look at the owner's manual. The pickup has separate fuses for right and left side of trailer. They're located in the big box in the engine compartment. I replaced the 10 or 15 size fuse and haven't had a problem since. Hope this helps!

If you haven't purchased the plugs yet. The wire color codes should be included in the package.

If you are going from a 4 pin on your trailer to the 7 pin on the truck. You need to go to parts store or a department store (ex Wal Mart) and look in trailer section and find the adapter. Thats what I did. Also Remember if your lights don't work on trailer, check the plug to make sure its tight or check the fuse under your drivers side rear seat for that fuse box.
