I have a Toshiba Satellite A200-TR6 and my screen become very dark sometimes specially and it come out of sleep mode or when I restart it but with a bright light I can see into my screen . I need to go in my settings and play with the resolution. It kinda stimulate my graphic card and the screen comes to life. There's a guy at the informatic shop that told me to maybe change the thermal paste between the graphic chipset and is socket would resolve the problem. But where is this chipset on the moterboard exacly?

SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite 5105-S501 LCD screen resolotion

This is usually caused by the cable that connects the LCD to the system board coming loose.

On this model, you can pop off the shiny black cover with three silver buttons on it above the keyboard. You will see a plug under there with about 25 multi-colored wires coming out of the connector. Carefully pull the connector off and then plug it back in.

If this doesn't fix it, try gently wiggling the plug with the laptop on and see if the picture changes quality at all. If it does, then the port on the system board may have gone bad.

SOURCE: i want to reboot my Toshiba A200 back to factory settings, i have a spyware down load **** that keeps on asking me to install.....how do i reboot

If you have the recovery CD, then put that in the drive, reboot the laptop and make sure you boot to the CD. The recovery process will start up and you can restore the laptop to it's factory settings. Make sure you have all of your documents, music, etc. backed up.

SOURCE: how to remove bios password for Toshiba Satellite A200

If you know the current password, use it to enter BIOS SETUP.
Then, type a "blank" ("space-bar") as the "new" password.

If you don't know the current password, you're stuck;
this is a "security" feature to prevent a stolen laptop from being used by the thief.

My Toshiba Satellite L305-S5875 always crashes on a cold boot.

Part of the problem is the hybernate function it causes windows to become unstable and eventually will corrupt the windows files making vista unusuable. I strongly suggest the hybernate mode be disabled and you make a backup recovery disc just in case windows crashes. By following what I have recommended and shut down windows when not in use will make a big difference in stability.

HI
Try to unplug the power supply and take the battery out. so it means there is no power going to the laptop. now press and hold the power button down for approximately 1 minute.
After that put the battery in and plug the adapter back.
Try to turn the laptop on most probably it will come on
If it still does the same thing contact ur laptop manufacturer

This sounds like a hard drive is, or has failed. Either that or the RAM (memory has gone bad)
Did you let the laptop overheat? Was it left on for a long time? Or is this just an old machine ?
I would replace the hard drive, and reload the operating system, that is if you really want to keep the laptop. If that solves it great! Also, did you notice if there are any "beep" noises, or error messages when it acts up? Often times, you can go on the internet and find out what the messages mean.

2. Also check the computer with no power saving options and see if the problem recurs
