This is usually caused by the cable that connects the LCD to the system board coming loose.
On this model, you can pop off the shiny black cover with three silver buttons on it above the keyboard. You will see a plug under there with about 25 multi-colored wires coming out of the connector. Carefully pull the connector off and then plug it back in.
If this doesn't fix it, try gently wiggling the plug with the laptop on and see if the picture changes quality at all. If it does, then the port on the system board may have gone bad.

If you have the recovery CD, then put that in the drive, reboot the laptop and make sure you boot to the CD. The recovery process will start up and you can restore the laptop to it's factory settings. Make sure you have all of your documents, music, etc. backed up.

If you know the current password, use it to enter BIOS SETUP.
Then, type a "blank" ("space-bar") as the "new" password.
If you don't know the current password, you're stuck;
this is a "security" feature to prevent a stolen laptop from being used by the thief.
