Hdd driver for WD 3200BVT-80JJ5TO DATE. 6 OKT 2011. And how it happen was when I was reinstalling windows I deleted the driver for hdd and now I am really in trouble..... Please answer A.S.A.P. Thank

Paul,
The driver for the HDD is actually built into the HDD. Windows 7 contains a driver to communicate with the drive. If you have a backed up copy of your operating system (created by you on DVD's or CD's when you purchased the machine) then you have all you need to do a complete erasing of the hard disk and restoring it to the way it was when you purchased it (all your added data and programs will be lost).

Performing a system restore:

HP Recovery Manager software allows you to repair or restore the computer to its original factory state. HP Recovery Manager works from recovery discs, a recovery flash drive, or from a dedicated
recovery partition (select models only) on the hard drive. NOTE: A system restore needs to be performed if the computer hard drive has failed or if all attempts to correct any functional computer issues fail. A system restore should be used as a final attempt to correct computer issues.
Note the following when performing a system restore:

You can restore only the system that you have previously backed up. HP recommends that you use Recovery Manager to create either a set of recovery discs or a recovery flash drive as soon as you set up the computer.

Windows has its own built-in repair features, such as System Restore. If you have not already tried these features, try them before using HP Recovery Manager.

HP Recovery Manager restores only software that was preinstalled at the factory. Software not provided with this computer must be downloaded from the manufacturer's Web site or reinstalled
from the disc provided by the manufacturer.

Restoring using the dedicated recovery partition (select models only)

When using the dedicated recovery partition, there is an option to back up pictures, music and other audio, videos and movies, recorded TV shows, documents, spreadsheets and presentations, e-mails,
Internet favorites and settings during this process.

To restore the computer from the recovery partition, follow these steps:

1. Access HP Recovery Manager in either of the following ways:

Select Start > All Programs > HP > HP Recovery Manager > HP Recovery Manager.

- or -

Turn on or restart the computer, and then press esc while the "Press the ESC key for Startup Menu" message is displayed at the bottom of the screen. Then, press f11 while the "F11 (System Recovery)" message is displayed on the screen.

2. Click System Recovery in the HP Recovery Manager window.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Restoring using the restore media

1. If possible, back up all personal files.

2. Insert the first recovery disc into the optical drive on your computer or an optional external optical drive, and then restart the computer.
- or -
Insert the recovery flash drive into a USB port on your computer, and then restart the computer.
NOTE: If the computer does not automatically restart in the HP Recovery Manager, the computer boot order needs to be changed.

3. Press f9 at system bootup.

4. Select the optical drive or the flash drive.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Hope this helps you out.

Reset hp amd to factory settings

Hello,

The particular error code (1009) is a generic error code for 'interrupted' for system recovery. Meaning, somehow, the recovery process was interrupted. For most HP machines this can be a simple as a few keys being pressed on the keyboard, a power interruption, bad disc, faulty hard drive, or some other form of read error during the process.

Unfortunately, the error code isn't specific enough to give you the best possible troubleshooting information, but I shall try to help as much as I can.

If you can provide the exact HP model number, I can provide a more specific solution for you; but, if you have a Desktop or Notebook computer that uses F11 (on start-up) to enter into system recovery, then you can do the following:

  1. Click Next when Welcome to Recovery Manager displays.
  2. Select No and then click Next when Microsoft System Restore displays.
  3. Select Yes and then click Next when System Recovery displays.
  4. Select the appropriate item (backup file or not) and then click Next when Recover your computer to original factory condition displays.
  5. Allow the system recovery process to complete.
NOTE: The PC will appear to FREEZE for several minutes (it can take quite a while depending on the Operating System you are installing), so do not turn off the power to your machine. If the machine stays frozen for longer than several hours, then chances are the hard drive is having issues, or the recovery image cannot be recovered.

If you have tried the above steps, and you are still failing with Error 1009, it usually points to a failure with the recovery medium (image on a CD, or image on the hard drive), or that the hard drive it is restoring too is having a write/read error. This can be worked around if you have a USB recovery media you can use.

If you have access to another computer, you can create a recovery key on a USB stick to boot your HP computer from, and then kick off the recovery process that way.

Those options, however, shouldn't be taken unless you have tried the above solutions first.

Regards,

Phillip

My computer is saying that the system is not fully installed and all I want to do is to resite it to its factory settings

Which operating system ?????.....
The HP Recovery Partition that comes pre-installed on most new HPs is like built-in insurance if your system becomes unstable or fails.
If the problem is severe enough, you may not be able to start the HP Desktop Recovery Manager from Windows but you can start it manually by following the steps below.

Disconnect all peripheral devices and power on the computer.
Press the F11 key after the computer first powers on to start the HP Recovery Manager.

Follow the on-screen instructions to back up recoverable files on the hard drive to an external drive or media.
Continue following the instructions to recover the hard drive to its original factory condition.
Click "Finish" when the recovery is complete.
Reconnect devices and reboot the computer.
Reinstall software and update Windows and HP to current settings.

Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows Vista)

HP Pavilion Recovery Partition
Accessing the recovery partition on your HP Pavilion laptop allows you to restore your computer to speed it up, eliminate a virus or repair your Windows operating system.
The Recovery Manager program makes it possible to restore your laptop to its settings as of a previous date or restore your computer to its original factory settings, which will erase all of your installed programs and personal data.
Using the recovery partition allows you to bypass the hassle of keeping track of recovery discs, which could be damaged in storage, rendering them useless when you need them.

Turn on or restart your HP Pavilion laptop.
Press "F11" when the "Press <F11> for recovery" message appears during the HP Pavilion boot process.
Select "Recovery Manager" from your list of recovery options and press "Enter."
The Recovery Manger program will open on your screen, and you can begin the recovery process.
Access Recovery Manager Within Windows
Click the "Start" icon or "Start" button in the lower left corner of your Windows home screen.
Click "All Programs" and then "Recovery Manager."
Click "Recovery Manager" again to open the Recovery Manager program on your HP Pavilion laptop.

I have a laptop HP Compaq 6720s and now I get the following code t.w. 0x4001001300001002 and when I will restarted the computer the message boot.mgr missing. What must I do?

That error means that the Boot Manager is Missing. This is usualy caused by either a failed hard drive, or a failed attempt at recovery. If you try to do a recovery and then suddenly halt the process, weather on purpose or due to somthing like power failure, then the first bit of the Recovery boot process, the BTMNGR, can be hosed. If this happens then your only option is to order recovery disks from the manufacturer and install the OS that way.

You might boot into bios (F10 on startup) and do a hard drive self test first to make sure you dont have a hard drive problem...

I'm trying to be to use the recovery manager on an hp mini to reinstall the operating system After going through the whole process for quite a while it stops and give me a message saying recovery...

Hallo! You better make a bootable USB with Windows and try to reinstall the system from it. You may have dome damaged files in the recovery partition. The bad part is that you would search some drivers for your mini after reinstall. Cheers!

I just restarted my HP and now it says there is no hard drive and I dont have a recovery disk

try disconnecting the drive and reseating it first.

If you enter the bios (f10 on startup) does the computer even detect the drive? If not - try reseating it - don't forget to power off first

Failing that try the hp recovery partition
1
Press the power button to start the HP. Press and hold the F11 key to launch the HP Recovery Manager from the recovery partition.
2
Backup any files you want to save. Follow the HP Recovery Manager instructions to save any important files before continuing with the recovery process.
3
Continue the recovery process. After backing up files to an external device or CD/DVDs, select the option to perform a system recovery.
4
Obtain and install updates for the HP. After your system reboots, use HP update manager as well as Windows update to restore all critical updates to your HP computer.
5
Make a set of recovery disks. Use HP Recovery Manager and select "Advanced Options" to create a set of recovery disks that can be used in the event that your HP cannot access the hard drive.

Wont restore OS from restore disk

Perform recovery using HP recovery manager.i.e. Press F11 during boot up and it will take you to the HP recovery manager.

HP and Compaq Notebook PCs are configured with a recovery manager or recovery media that enables you to repair or reinstall the original operating system. Depending on the model of the notebook PC, there may be a recovery CD or DVD included, or your model may have the Recovery Manager tool to create a personal recovery disc. You can also order a replacement recovery disc from HP.

Also check the below for the error occurs while performing the recovery/restore.

HP --Bioscrypt Verisoft fingerprint reader -- Error

Oh your going to hate me but unfortunately under vista if your credential manager gets corrupted the only way around is a total reimage - back to when it came out of the box. To do a full reimage using your recovery partition on power up to HP post screen tap F11 until the recovery manager starts - select advanced tab - full system recovery no backup - full destructive - this time when you get to your client details for setup after the recovery process select your password with care and when the time comes for for the finger print reader enabling under the credential manager the finger to use is your right small finger = the little pinkie >> it gets less work and is less prone to possible damage - small irregulaties are enough to fail a reading.
So I hope this helps but unfortunately a full destructive recovery is required.
