Think you need to clean the sponge that the ink cartridges sit on in the head tray they are probably blocked with dry ink. You can remove the print head and tray by lifting the lever and gently lifting it out..... go here http://www.inkjethelper.com/
to see how to carefully clean it with compressed air. I had to do this too.

Canon Pixma yellow color problem

Either the ink you are using is not going to give the color you want, or you have print heads that are blocked.

Most likely the the ink carts are low or you have a one defective cart. Do steps in sequence
1. Reseat carts 2. Reset the printer. 3. Rpl carts one at a time till you find the defective one.

Canon pixma ip 4300 colour problems

If they are generic inks, sometimes the colors aren't quite right, also in your machine you can't use the photo inks, the photo magenta and photo cyan are not the right shade for your machine. You need plain magenta and plain cyan. Beyond that you may need a new printhead.

I have a iP4500 and it won't print the magenta. I

You need to try another cartridge before anything else, some generic carts. don't fit right in the printhead, the ink pad is too far up inside the cartridge. You may have a defective printhead, or possibly the purge unit is not cleaning properly. I can't tell without seeing the printer.

Prints on Cyan

For the colors that are not printing, take the cartridges out. Now get a bowl and pour in about 1/4 on an inch of window cleaner. Now put the cartridges in the window cleaner with the the bottom that releases the ink in window cleaner. allow them to soak for about 10 minutes, dry them off, then blot the bottom with a paper towel to see if ink is now releasing. if so install the cartridges back in the printer to see if the colors print.

Pixma iP1500:new ink cartridges fitted but no Magenta

Take a look at the mounting point. They break very easily on this model. If not broke, try cleaning with a swab and inserting the cart again.
