The front display on the PW9120 should tell you the condition of the batteries. You can download a manual on the Powerware site for the UPS. Go through the UPS settings to ensure they match the factory settings. (By the way, the factory setting for the Input Voltage Frequency should be +/- 5%). Page throught the display to get what the current UPS readings are.
If the UPS won't hold a load when the input plug is pulled and the UPS factory settings are correct, you may need new batteries.
You do not have to remove the load to charge newly installed batteries. The Powerware 9120 has both a rectifier to supply the DC bus feeding the load on the inverter, and a charger to charge the batteries to full charge. After being on overnight, your UPS should be fully charged.

Replace the batteries with new one then power the UPS without load for three hours or more so that the batteries can be charged. Then disconnect or switch off power to the UPS and observe if it will till be on using the batteries. If it will be ON then your problem is solved but if it goes off then your UPS is on BYPASS

Hello, we have a Powerware 9120 and our question is: If you set the BYPASS option, can the batteries load?? Thank you

Not sure what you mean by load the batteries. Replace them? Yes. Bypass mode is typically used when servicing the unit. You can email Eaton if you like: SinglePhaseTS@eaton.com
Here is the legacy documentation page for the 9120 UPS:

I have a powerware 9120 (6kva) and about 1 week i replaced all 20 batteries after the UPS failed. but its displaying battery disconnected when i try to power it. i cant seem to figure the problem. i tried...

Did your UPS display "Battery disconnected" or did it display "Battery Failure"? If it was "Battery Failure", for some reason the Powerware 9120 will take almost 18 hours after plugging in to power after battery replacement to correct the Battery Failure indication. Charger has to charge up the batteries, followed by an automatic battery test by the UPS. If the indication was "Battery Disconnected", you will need to check the internal fuses to see if they are blown. If the UPS keeps blowing fuses, it will require a board repair.

Hello, my Powerware 3105 beeps 3 times every 30 seconds or so. I think the battery is not working anymore because when I unplug the power source everything connected turns off. Can you confirm bad battery...

Your problem is showing up under the Powerware 9305 (a very large UPS) but your comments are about the 3105. It sounds like your battery is dead. If your UPS is over 3-5 years old, that's most likely the case. The website address to view the user manual is www.eaton.com/3105 You can contact Eaton directly, too. Eaton bought Powerware about 6 years ago. Here's the contact info. Be sure to have your serial and model numbers ready from the rating label on your UPS.

Need to locate someone to install batteries into our UPS Powerware 2000. Location, Tempe, AZ (Phoenix, AZ)

Try contacting Eaton. They bought Powerware about 6 years ago and the personnel are trained on older Powerware systems. If you have the part number and serial number from the rating label on the UPS, that would be helpful.
