How Do I reset timer of Lamp on My SOny VPL-HS60 Projector? Please Help me. I need to reset my VPL-ES2. I looked at the lamp and it is not burned out. I only have a power on button, not a standby button and I only have one button with the 4 directions on the remote. Will this work?
According to the manual, you need access to the RESET button, the left and right arrows and the ENTER button to clear the counter. Press the following in order for less than 5 seconds each:
RESET
Left Arror
Right Arrow
ENTER
The above sequence should clear the counter.

Based upon your description, it sound to me like the ballast is defective and that the lamp is not being "fired" correctly. There are numerous safety circuits inside that will shutdown the lamp and projector as a whole when problems are detected. Becasue of the nature of your problem, I doubt that this will be resolved remotely. I would suggest that you get a detailed repair estimate from an authorized Sony service center. Post the results here and we can walk you through the actual repair.

I tried doing this with the projector in the stanby mode and with the projector turned on. The same thing happens: the light goes off, but when you turn on the projector, no light comes on, and after a while, the projector turns itself off without the light or the old saying about the number of hours used. I did try taking the lamp out to see if it was burnt out, but it didn't appear to be burnt out.
I have the same problem. Has anybody tried the reset- left- right- enter-buttons one after each other to fix the problem.
