LIFE FITNESS elliptical 9500HR SHUTS DOWN

After pressing the start button and entering data (weight, level, time) the display will stay on until I start moving then the display shuts down within 3-5 seconds. If I don't start moving the display will continue to stay on until it switches to paused. I have checked for loose connections, the battery read 5.77 volts, the brushes are good. I am thinking the speed sensor, but I am not sure. Are the above symptoms those of a misadjusted speed sensor? Do they go bad? It worked fine in the fall, then sat for 3-4 months in the winter and now does not work. Thanks

I have a life fitness elliptical trainer X9i. This unit has a plug in power supply. I would think you should be getting a certain voltage to the console. Remove the plugs and clean them with alcohol. Call 1-800-351-3737 and ask for help from the manufacturer. I hope they are more helpful for you than they were for me. My console will not display the heart rate consistently, from the hand grips. They told me to clean the grips. Worked for one week and quit. I think the real problem is with the circuit board and they should help us to repair it. Need to find out who made the console board? Good luck let us know if you find the answer. I will be calling the manufacturer monday when they are open. Thanks

download an owner manual lots of good stuff in there. Hand grips won't work properly if sweaty, also too close to a tv can mess things up. If you have another machine with sensors too close this can affect your machine too. Good luck.

How can I turn down beeping on Life Fitness 95xi elliptical? My wife pedals slowly on it and it's constantly restarting and beeping and beeping and beeping.

To turn down or turn off the beeping on your Life Fitness 95xi elliptical, follow these steps:
  1. Locate the control panel: The control panel is usually located near the handlebars or on the console of the elliptical.
  2. Find the sound or beep settings: Look for a sound or beep option in the settings menu.
  3. Adjust the volume or turn off the beeping: Use the up and down buttons to adjust the volume of the beep, or turn off the beep completely.
  4. Save the changes: Once you have made the necessary adjustments, be sure to save the changes by pressing the "Save" or "Enter" button.
If you are unable to find the sound or beep settings, consult the owner's manual or contact the manufacturer for assistance. Keep in mind that some beeps are important safety warnings, and disabling them could be dangerous.

Hi i have a e7 code on my lifespan fit e3i elliptical help please

For E6 and E7 codes, while this code is displayed:

First, press and hold Level Minus, then the Start key (the Level Minus key first), for 2 seconds. (make sure you press Level Down a little before Start.) The console should beep twice; the display does not change.

If the potentiometer value on the left of the screen is higher than 240, press and hold the Ramp minus key to lower the ramp until the value is in a range between 48 and 240. Then release the button. May reset by itself now. Or, turn the elliptical off and back on to reset. If ramp goes up to 255 and won't move in any mode, unplug power for 20 minutes.

If the potentiometer value is lower than 48, press and hold the Ramp plus button to raise the incline until the value is in a range between 48 and 240. Then release the button. May reset by itself now. Or, turn the elliptical off and back on to reset.

Now press Start, and pedal for 30 seconds. The ramp should reset to zero, the lowest level.

I have 9500HR Treadmill Lifefitness, Lift keeps increasing when pushing the down button.

RUN the software calibration for easy diagnostic and fix it. Go under the HOOD motor, and follow the steps.
The Steps for Newer Style Console Calibration:
  1. Locate the calibration area on the rear or underside of the console (a hole, near the console's center, that goes through to the electronics board. (This hole should not have a screw in it.)
  2. Insert a pencil (eraser end), into the hole and feel around for the cal button (will click when pressed).
  3. Press the button 2 times (with the pencil eraser). The first click should show CL11 in the console, the second click should show CL21.
  4. If the process was done correctly, and CL21 appears in the console, you are in "calibration mode." The next few steps consists of pressing buttons on the console and observing settings. This will not require any other tools.
  5. Press ENTER. CL22 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.
  6. Press ENTER. CL23 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.
  7. Press ENTER. CL24 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.
  8. Press ENTER. CL25 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.
  9. Press ENTER. CL26 should display in the TIME window. You should then see the letter "E."
  10. Press ENTER. You should see "SS" or "55" in the console.
  11. Push the STOP/START button. For safety, at this point, you should step off, or be off, the treadmill.
  12. Push the ENTER button. The walking belt should start to move, accelerate to maximum speed, then stop on its own.
  13. When the belt stops, the incline should self test by raising to its highest incline position, then lowering back down to its lowest position.
  14. Once the incline test is complete, push the POWER button 2 times. The unit should shut off and the console should go completely blank. If this happens, the treadmill is done calibrating and is ready for use.
If the letter "F" appears in the SPEED or INCLINE window when the power button is pressed 2 times, the treadmill is indicating a failure somewhere either in the SPEED or INCLINE (depending on the window the "F" appeared in). Troubleshooting the failure would be the next step.
