Tv comes on then just shuts off will turn right back on

My Hitachi 50UX22BA will turn on but will shut off all by it self has been a great tv but is old want to fix but dont want to put a lot of $$ in to it
The tv will some time stay on for hours and then ther is small pop and it is off it willturn right back on and does not have any pattern as to when it will shut off a gain sometimes it is imediate some times several min. up to hours ???? ANY THOUGHTS

Hello it sound like theres may be a dry joint probably in the power supply you would need a strong light and a magnifying glass and soldering iron and some solder

Currently the TV will not turn on at all. It is dead. For the last several months the TV would often shut off after being on for 1 to 3 minutes. It could take up to 4 attempts to turn on again & stay...
i suspect it is capacitors on the power board that are failing on it. I am not familiar with this particular model. But i would say that is what it is, you can usually tell which ones are bad because they will be bulging at the top

SOON AS I TURN MY TV ON IT SHUTS RIGHT BACK OFF
It sounds like a repair is required, but to confirm:

With this model, you can try unplugging from the wall for at least thirty seconds, then plug in and switch on. (That's if you haven't already).

If that doesn't work, there is a fault causing the power supply to self protect and shut down again. Repair will be needed.

The tv shuts off after 15 to 20 mins. then 15 to 10 mins then 10 to 5 minutes. I tried to blow the dust out of the back but now it only comes on for a few seconds and shuts off again.
Im not sure what brand you are inquiring about. My Hitachi 50v715 DLP did the same thing and it turned out to be the Lamp was going out. I bought a new original hitachi lamp(phillips) and put it in and it works great. So if your lamp has not been changed out in a couple of years then its probably time. Hope this is helpful.

hitachi is known for its problems and the best solution is to call a repairman out to repair it properly.i know thats not much help but its the only sure way to fix it and fix it right

Wont power on
Good day, papamotts;

Hitachi has LED’s, green ‘lights’ and a red light to determine what circuit may be the problem; after removing the back of TV, bottom only, plug TV back in and observe which LED’s come on …..BUT most important which LED’s don’t come on; locate and note number, EG; DP37 and etc.

Hitachi 51F500 (Two separate problems?)
My guess is that the sound you heard was that of some High Voltage discharges that could have fed back and damaged some semiconductors including the microprocessor itself. Since it could be a very expensive repair, I would be very tempted to look around for a new HDTV by JVC or Toshiba. Hitachi has slipped a notch or two in recent years according to my experience.
