SOURCE: motorola v3m razr has frozen up
If you have a memory card in your phone, try taking it out and then turning it on. Sometimes if you have to much on your card it will freeze up. Never store anything directly to a memory card in your phone.

If the phone still works, check to see if the left side of the hinge (when the phone is open and facing you) is loose. If you can wiggle the top 1/2 of the phone, the hinge is damaged, therefore damaging the flex cable that runs through it. If that is the case, replace the hinge assembly and the flex and you're good.
The K1 is no joke to take apart. Flex replacement requires full disassembly. I would recommend checking out www.wirelessunlimitedinc.com, or www.myspace.com/wirelessunlimited to have it done professionally, less than Motorola will charge you.
Or give it a shot if you want, you need a T5 Torx and lots of patience and care.

I am sorry to hear that you didn't solve your problem with the help of the other expert. Well, it's not a difficult issue, but if you handle it without proper knowledge, you may damage it. If you've already removed the battery and the cover, you have only two steps to remove it.
Slide the sim card as shown below:
Press and slide it towards the right hand side (according to the picture shown above), it should slide out without any problem, but if it doesn't, I guess, it's never been removed for a long time or so. In that case, you can use a pair of tweezer, but don't ever use a pointed tweezer, that would damage your sim card. Use a flat head tweezer, a bigger tweezer will be better. Hold/Clip the two side eg. up and down faces, slide the sim card with your finger or you can use a smooth edge object to help push it while you pull it with the tweezer. Do this slowly, don't do it forcefully, make sure you pull it out to the right direction.
There is no lock or level to lock the sim card, it's just slided in to the slot.
Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck.
