Yes, this is the solution to the problem. I had the same problem and I took off the front panel and cleaned out the lint along with the spare change that came out of the pockets. Thanks for helping us out.

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too, comes after the filter.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

Error code 5d/Sd means suds have been detected. To solve this problem you have to take the bottom front panel apart and then clean the drain filter pump assembly completely, make sure the washer is unplugged before working on it. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

remove the lower panel on the machine and you will see the water pump and right next to the pump you will see a drain plug --- turn the plug counter-clockwise and unscrew it. let it drain,, and clean out any blockage that may be in there. after it is clean,, re-install the plug and start the wash cycle,, this should solve your problem.

First check your washer plug to see if the connections are tightly screwed. Next check your filter if you haven't for long.

Remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel under the washer door. Your filter door will be light brown. If you find a hose there it is to drain out excess water (water that could not be drained by your pump) After you hv drained unscrew the cap and remove all the junk inside. Have a large plastic bag to catch junk and water. Refit carefully after cleaning out. If not solved, something shd be blocking your pump, check this out

Whirpool Duet - Soap not getting into wash cycle

O.K. Is the water draining out properly? If the filter is blocked then your washing will be churning in dirty water as the machine will drain for a maximum time then rinse etc. in the used water.

Whirlpool Duet Front Loader won't get up to spin speed

Careful of overloading the front-loading washers. Too much of this will result in the bearings in the drum to go bad. When this happens, the rpms on the drum slow down due to belt slack. You can only see this with the back off of the unit and in the middle of the cycle. They do not sell replacement bearings...you'll have to buy the whole drum (bearings pressed inside) and for 1/2 the cost of a new washer. I hate front-loaders. I'll never buy one again.

Whirlpool Duet Front loader - in normal cycle will not spin

no such thing as "reset teh washer" what you can do is check your pump assembly for clogs. remove the lower acees panel (3 screws across the bottom of front panel) behind there youll find a cleanout for the pump, perhaps a baby sock, or other small debris has gotten in preventing complete draining of unit
