If water is not making it into the drum, open the washer door and feel around the bellow (door gasket) for anything blocking the water inlet port into the washer (It's common for a sock(s) to get wedged up there and cause a blockage).

Let me know if you need more assistance.
Good luck!
Paulo - Thanks - it was the other end of the drum - a paper seal from the detergent was blocking the top of the drum and water that was flowing thru the detergent tray was being deflected out of the tray and causing the flooding - I feel like I just saved $900 for a new washer - Thanks to all!

Water does not go into the detergent chamber. The water comes out from under the machine on the floor.

Are you sure that is not the "bleach chamber"?
To avoid risk of "bleaching" some parts of clothes with concentrated, bleach, the washer will get the bleach only when water is full & washing has started.
Non-bleaching detergent can just be put in with dry clothes.

Leaking water

Water can't leak out the top from overloading unless the entire tub is full of water which is a major malfunction, or an inlet hose between the powder drawer and tub is somehow blocked (extremely unlikely).. Are you using topload detergent? Normal detergent can foam up and out through the drawer and leak onto the floor..
Normally water enters through the top of the powder tray to disperse it into the tub. pull out the tray slightly while filling to see how this works. You might be able to identify that the water is not flowing properly. Normally you can really pack into a front loader, I've been thrilled with my 5100 for 8yrs.
If this doesn't help let me know and I'll suggest next step.
Good luck!

Water is pouring out of my dispenser drawer

I have read other folks say that this has happened to them when a sock or wash cloth gets stuck behind the rubber seal of the door. There is a pipe that drains the water from your detergent tray and it may be clogged with a sock. Try feeling around behind the rubber seal in proximity to the detergent tray and see if there is a piece of clothing stuck in the pipe that drains the detergent tray. Also remove the tray and check the pipe from that end too.

Bosch Axxis WFL2060 stopped working on a wash cycle. The first time I used liquid HE detergent. I am sure I put too much in and the interior foamed up, the detergent tray foamed up and came out underneath...

water in base after overfoaming has leak detection if you can tip machine back this water will run onto floor allowing unit to rest, make sure you put down some rags towel etc to trap water there will be up to a pint of water.

Water is coming out of the area were you put the detergent. Hoses are all connected and seam to be in good condition.

I take it his is a frontload style washer. You probably have soap buildup underneath the detergent tray, where the soapy water enters the hose that goes to the tub. Try to remove the soap tray and clean the buildup.

Whirlpool washer overflows at detergent dispenser

Hello, I worked on a problem like this a few days ago. Your problem is going to be a blockage in the inlet to the drum. To fix this problem find the inlet pipe normally located above the door behid a flap of rubber..push your fingers up there to see if you can feel a blockage..If not your going to have to remove the lid of the machine to access the pipe that leads from the detergent drawer to the tub. Look at the rear top of the machine..You will see three screws....remove them and push back and lift the top panel (lid) now you should be able to access the pipe. Pull the pipe off and clean it out, i suspect you will find a sock blocking the pipe :) If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck! Mike

Kenmore 44102 has stopped sudsing

Nancy this is a hard one. The first thing I would do is check how hard your water is. The harder the incoming water, the less suds. I believe your model starts with a 417. front loader and I assume that the detergent is being dissolved in the disp. tray. On this model, most of the water will be under the basket while agitating. Now, your drain from the tub has a filter and if it full of lint and debris, it could be restricting the drain, leaving dirty water in the tub. You would have to remove the lower panel and check the tub filter. This is located in the tubing coming down from the tub going to the trap and pump. I will attach a photo for you. You can also run the washer empty with hot water. Add 2 cups of bleach. After it starts agitating, stop it and let it sit for 2 hours. Then resume the wash and let it finish. See if the dirty smell goes away. Catriver..post back

LG Front Loading Washer overflows at detergent dispenser

you mean where you put the regular HE soap in? That slot is normal to overflow. The water carries the soap down (Lift the little doohickie up, it's removable for powder deterg.), and it carries it all the way to the tub...Unless i don't get it...but I'm reading the phrase "Its like the water will not go down to the tub.", and it makes me think the whole tray is overfilling with water..if this is the case, I can't help you, but filling over of the Main HE Soap tray is normal. (Just a little, if the whole thing starts filling uncontrollably, hit the power button.)
