Everything was working great until I had to change the 3e cartridge. I followed all the instructions (have never had a problem before) but can't get the 3eBK to print. Have cleaned the heads to no avail. I thought maybe the cartridge was ''bad'' so I put in another new one and it too will not print. Any ideas for me?
I cleaned my print heads 7 times before it all cleared up. Another possibility is there may have been a piece of clear paper or sticker or something on the replacement cartridge - take the cartridge next to it out and compare the two to make sure they look the same.

Not sure if this will help but there is a small glass panel to the left of your flatbed scanner- this must be clean or else I get a black vertical line in my printing.

I can tell you that the MP780 does not know the difference between a BCI3 and a BCI6 cartridge so there is definitely another issue.

I take new head - dont work. I put old head from my son`s pixma ip4000 in my Canon MP760 and printer is working!!! Put new head in his printer and don`t work. Problem is with new printheads, THEY DON`T WORK. I change 8 printheads and they work well, but last two printhead (brand new) DON`T WORK. I live in Serbia and I can`t do anything because Canon in Serbia don`t accept problems, they simple said : out of warranty. Maybe you can ask in some other country? I pay 100Eur per printhead here.

I have successfully managed to clean the print head with isopropyl alcohol by placing a flexible plastic tube over the cartridge seat, filling the tube partially with the alcohol, then blowing very hard through the tube. The alcohol does not appear to harm anything.

same problem with the 6e as well as the 3e, it will print color, but won't copy black and faxes come through blank. How do you clean the print head?
