SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite C655-S5082. Won't power

Hi.

Take out the AC power jack and then remove the laptop battery. Plug AC power back in and see if the laptop will turn on. If it turns on let it boot the operating system and then shut down as normal, remove the power cord and reinsert the battery and again see if it will switch on. If it does then there has been a glitch with the battery. If it doesn't then there is a problem with the battery.

If the laptop won't switch on either with or without the battery then there is a possibility that the motherboard has developed a problem.

Good luck.

SOURCE: My Dell Lattitude e6400 won't

Hello.

The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.

Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty.

If you move/wiggle the power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem.

The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable.

If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: What's the cmos battery p/n for the motherboard of a 584037-001 G62 laptop?

The CMOS Battery does not have a part number. The CMOS Battery is attached to the motherboard somewhere inside the laptop. It is nothing more than a small battery that watches use. However it could be any size such as C2032. You can buy them at Walmart or any grocery or department store for less than $5.00. The problem in most cases is being able to get to it because most manufactures built the laptop so that you will have to disassemble it to get to the CMOS battery.

My G62-229NR won't hard reset

Well I think the best thing to do is to go desperate mode: Take out the battery and put it back in. Be careful to do this as it may be still charged.

Need to fix G62 computer:will not start

"Worked in the past, doesn't work now", That's sort of the definition of a failure. Has the laptop been dropped? What does the laptop when you try to start? Do you see LED"s blink? Fan spins? HHD LED blink? Battery light on? Has the AC jack been damaged due to pulling on the cord? Did you try a cord/charger with the EXACT same power spec? Test the DC volts at the laptop cord plug with a multimeter. Reseat the Memory mods. May be a HDD failure? Post results

Hp desktop blinking green light won't come on

mine does that when it's in stand-by mode. I just push the power button and it comes on....

Assuming you've already tried that....push and hold the power-button down for 5 seconds and the power SHOULD go out. *IF* it does not, then disconnect the power cord in the back for 1min....then reconnect and try to boot. If it *DOES*, then do the same...unplug the power cord for 1min and reconnect and boot.

When i turn on my HP g62 the screen goes white

HiPerform a hard resetIf a PC suddenly fails to boot properly, you should perform a hard reset as the first procedure.
  1. Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove all USB devices and media cards. You want to test the computer not the accessories!
  2. Disconnect the AC power adapter, remove the battery, and then press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds .
  3. Reconnect the AC power adapter (but do not connect the battery), Press the Power button,Look for glowing LEDs near caps lock and num lock keys, and Listen for sounds of a disk drive and fan turning.Hope this helpsRegardsMichelle
