Not connecting I purchased this controller at a second hand shop. The unit looks brand new, but I can not get it to work with the dongle (unit that plugs into the x-box). The x-box reconizes the dongle and the little red light lites up, but the controller won't connect. I put new batteries in the controller, and the light lites up when you push the buttons. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or do I have a bad controller.

I assume this is a wireless Controller for the xbox system. Make sure it is set on the right channel.

I have a after glow PS3 controller that takes AA batteries and does not have a USB port or a reset button on it how can I connect to my ps3

Was this bought new or second hand? Some wireless AfterGlow controllers don't connect directly to the PS3. They connect through the dongle that is plugged into the games console. If you don't have a dongle you won't be able to connect it. The PS3 console is classed as an "old" console so a replacement dongles could be difficult to find. If you bought this from a store contact them as it may be covered by a guarantee.
I think that controller is manufactured by PDP.com so you could try contacting them to see if they can supply a new dongle.

I have Darwin Desktop 7.0 for Quark Xpress on the Mac. My dongle burnt out. I need a new dongle or a license key that doesn't require a dongle. Can you help?

Hello, Bob.

I'd suggest contacting CREO (from their site):

Send in your dongle serial number and request a licence key number for the Darwin version you want. For further information on obtaining the license key number, write to [email protected] or see www.creo.com/Darwin

Hope this helps.

When my son tries to play his guitar all the lights are flashing on it and we cant figure out how to get it working..

The flashing lights on the controller mean the guitar is not connecting to the wireless usb dongle connected to the PS3.

1. Verify that the wireless box is plugged in firmly to the usb port on the front of the PS3.

2. If that doesn't work, look on the wireless usb dongle for the guitar hero guitar controller. (It should be a black box with the guitar hero logo on it. You will find a small push button on the dongle. (Make sure your PS3 is turned on, though your guitar hero game does not have to be open. It may be a good idea to have the game running, so you can test your guitar or make sure it is really working). Press and hold the button on the wireless usb dongle for a few seconds. Five seconds should be enough. Doing this attempts to re-connect the dongle and the controller. You will know when the connection is good when the red lights on the controller go steady, as well as the LED on the small button you pressed on the wireless usb dongle. If either lights continue to blink, there is a connection problem still.

3. Try changing the batteries in the guitar controller. Weak batteries tend to cause connection issues.

4. Test the wireless usb dongle and controller with another PS3. This will rule out an issue with your PS3 system.

5. If the problem still occurs on another PS3, the wireless dongle may have gone bad. (This does happen rarely.) Replacements are cheap to find on ebay

I need a battery charger

You can visit a local shop or dealer on electronics and ask them for a second hand or brand new charger which you can purchase for a cheap price.
Also,if that doesn't work for you, you can go online to ebay.com and search for available items and purchase one online.
The most secure way of acquiring is either by buying from a shop or from the accessories page of the website.
hope this solution was helpful? please comment for more information and thank you for using Fixya.com

Brand new won't charge won't sync

If it was really bought brand new, there are only a few things that could be wrong with it.
The first and most likely thing is that it might have been used previously by someone or you were sold a fake of the controller.
On the other hand, it might have stayed quite a long time in the shop from which you purchased it and as a result the battery life-span has been exceeded.
Don't get down, there is one little thing you could do that might help.
You would need to look under the controller and look towards the top part and you would see a little, tiny pin-hole(you might not notice without looking close).
Get a pin and insert into this hole(this is the reset button for the ps3 controller, as it could help fix any problems with the controller).
If this doesn't work, make sure your usb charger is properly connected and functioning well, but if all these prove abortive, the best thing to do is to return it to the shop from where it was bought.

My trust mouse is new and it isnt working it recognises it well so the usb device works but the mouse aind working... :(

- Try using fresh batteries.
- Make sure that the switch is turned ON.
- On the USB dongle and underneath the mouse, check if you will see a small connect button. If there is, hold down the connect button on both dongle and mouse at the same time for five (5) seconds and release them both.
- Try moving the mouse.
- Make sure that there are no possible wireless interference like base of a cordless phone or any other wireless devices such as cell phone. The wireless signal of these said devices might interfere with the wireless signal of your mouse.

Have a great day!

What is a ECU? Where is it? How much?

ECU stands for engine control unit and its the engine management computer. It is generally found under the center console. Price wise, preety hard to say as you can normally have second hand, reconditioned ones and brand new as well. You must shop around for the best prices in all cases. Cheers.

Not connecting

There should be a switch on the Pelican wireless controller that enables you to change the channel on the controller and or receiver. Look in its manual, it should say such. If not... Then it's because it is a very poorly-done job done by the company. Replace that controller with a WaveBird (older wireless controller for the gamecube, but a lot better)

Please keep your X-Box controller question in another section.
