Can't Copy, Receivers of Fax get Full Black Blank Page

Hello, When I use the "COPY" function, the machine goes through the process, as normal. However, my "duplicate" is basically a blank page with a few black horizontal lines running across the blank page. When I "SEND" a fax, the machine goes through the process, as normal. However, the person receiving the fax only gets a black empty page. I can receive faxes without any problems. I just can't get a copy of document and I can't send a document. I'm thinking that the fax machine somehow can't read my original document for copying and sending. If this is the case, can you please offer some suggestions to fix?
