Go to m-and-d.com then parts diagram then illustrated parts online then parts look up then select oem poulan then poulan then saw then look at list of models you will find 3400. Have worked on one or two of the 3400 and they seem to be a fairly good saw for home use.

Polan 3400 fuel line route?

I haven't seen a manual yet that shows you the fuel line route on a piece of equipment.. Generally its the most direct route from tank to carb to primer (if it has one)

No oil going to the chain and bar. I've drained

You will need to disassemble the saw and clear the oil line at the least. It could also be a bad pump.

Gas leaks out of poulan 3400 counter vibe chainsaw handle.

The fuel tank is integral with the plastic housing of the saw. A leak has obviously developed, I would say its time to replace the plastic housing and go from there.

Fuel mix ratio for poulan counter vibe 3400 chain saw; mix ratio

A different site that lists 40:1. http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.nsf/ed1d619968136da688256af40002b8f7/4a98e23d38cbda9b88256bf80015de57?OpenDocument
Oil mix is controversial. Some think more is better, todays saws run much faster and carbon up much quicker. Ask the mechanics at a local saw shop. I will wager they say 50:1 regardless of the age of the saw. Me too! The Echo site now says use 50:1 regardless of what is printed in the OM. It is your saw Mike; run what you want.

Fuel mix ratio for poulan counter vibe 3400 chain saw and for a homelite st-145 weed trimmer

Oil Mix Ratio: (last 5-10 years)
Dolmar, Echo, Efco, Homelite, Husqvarna, Jonsered, Makita, Oleo-Mac, Red Max, Ryobi, Shindaiwa, Solo, Spear & Jackson, Stihl & Tanaka; all recommend 50:1.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 80 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
McCulloch, Poulan & Wen; recommend 40:1.
1 gallon of premium fuel to 3.2 ounces of quality 2-cycle oil.
4 liters of premium fuel to 100 milliliters of quality 2-cycle oil.
Chinese chainsaws recommend 25:1.

If me I would have the Poulan tweaked to run properly on 50:1 and use that in both. It will start easier and take much longer to carbon foul.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

My saw starts good when its cold, but after you run it , it wont start . I have a poulan chain saw 3400

Check the spark with a clean new plug when it won't start. If absent, then the ignition module may be sensitive to heat and need to be replaced. If spark is good, try putting a small quantity of fuel into the plug hole, reinstall the plug, and try to start--if runs for a short time, then you have fuel delivery problems. Check the carburetor for looseness to the engine and the condition of the fuel lines. Check the tightness of the screws in the carburetor end plates. Are you using the choke when restarting? 2-stroke engines usually need a little help to get running even when warm.
