Comcast remote's ok button doesn't work with xbox 360

I have comcast custom dvr 3 device universal remote and Microsoft Xbox 360. I would like to use the remote to control the xbox. The remote works for the most part except the (red) ok/select button. Ok/select button seems to work only for the cable box. Is there a way to unlock the button to work with xbox 360 as well?

Sorry, the Red Button won't work, but you can map the A button on the Comcast remote instead. It's almost the same thing... Your fingers will barely know the difference.

1. Press the Aux button at the top of the remote.

2. Hold the Setup button until the Aux button flashes twice.

3. Enter 994 on the keypad. The Aux button will flash twice again.

4. Now push the Setup button once. Enter 00001.

Finally, push the A button The Aux button will flash twice. You now have the A / Select / OK / Green button mapped on the Xbox360.

--If you want to switch the A button back to default, just do the same sequence but this time push the A button twice.--

Some of the remotes come defaulted with the primary control buttons locked to the cable mode. Check the user manual on how to unlock them and it may fix your problem.

I can't get my remotes to sync with the console.

Connecting a controller to the Xbox 360 is one of those things that should be simple but always ends up confusing and difficult.

Wired is simple; just plug in the controller into a USB slot on the console. It should connect automatically.

For a wireless controller you do the following:
1. Turn on the Xbox 360.
2. Press center Xbox button on 360 controller.
3. Press the small "sync" button on the console.
4. Press the small "sync" button on the controller quickly after step 3.
Of course I never remember the order, so randomly mashing the Xbox button and sync buttons eventually works too. Here's a link to how to sync, but with pictures!

If you're using the Xbox 360 Universal Media remote, I believe it uses an IR (infrared) connection so there is no syncing involved. To use it you just need to point it at the Xbox 360 console (specifically, it's IR receiver). Just make sure the batteries in the remote aren't dead and that the remote is in 360 mode (as opposed to TV mode; just press the "TV" button to toggle modes).

Got new dvr box (not HD connection). had to use inputs that xbox was connected to on tv for my dvr. how do I connect the xbox 360 now so that we can use it without switching out the connections?

There are a couple ways to do this. The cheaper way is to buy some RCA Y adapters. You'll need one for each input (3, probably). Plug the male end into your TV, then plug the (yellow, red or white) cable from the XBox and DVR into the other ends of the cable. The downside of this is that you'll need to turn off the box you're not using in order to see the screen OK.

The slightly more expensive way is to purchase a switch box from Best Buy or Radio Shack or any where on the internet. The switch box will work like the Y adapters, but you can have both boxes on. If these are the only two devices that you need to use, then you only need a 2 way switch. Buy the switch and three RCA cables. Plug the RCA cables into the back of the switch in the output holes, and plug the other end into the TV. Plug the DVR and XBox cables into the input sections of the switch. Then you press one button for DVR on the switch and the other button for the XBox.

Additional information for given answer: Don't bother with the ch/pg button as the instructions mention; simply enter the code and press the TV button. 0044 worked for me after doing this, but not when pressing the ch/pg buttons as the instructions indicate.
