I'm having a great deal of problems with my Philips Senseo. When I don't put any coffee pads or coffee duck with coffee grounds in it, it works fine, but as soon as I add those the machine stops after pushing through a small quantity of water. It doesn't stop with the led flashing or still being on, but rather turns off, as if the power went off. I assured myself it's tank is filled with water. Anything I can do? I read somewhere it might be an internal pressure problem, so I figured I could empty it's pump according to the manual instructions, but it didn't work either. I'm not sure I can call the Philips helpline since the Senseo is not directly available in my country. It was given as a gift from a relative that's living in Germany. Thanks in advance for any help.

The product is still in production, so that should not be the problem. Question is whether the handle is a spare part.

When was the last time you clean it with vinegar? Run vinegar through it and you will see hard water scales that were built on the heater. Coffee makers should be clean out every month then with 2 rinse cycles after that.
SOURCE: Senseo coffee problem
The pod holder has an O ring to seal the black plastic disc in,if it is not sealed you will end up with more volume and a weaker coffee without the foam, either knock the disc out and try and seat the O ring and then knock it back in or buy a new pod holder,I had this same problem
SOURCE: philips senseo coffee is watery
It may be the pod holder, there is a seal under the black disc at the bottom of the holder, the water will bypass the coffee under pressure, travel to the outside of the pod holder and exit the centre where the filter mesh is,if there is no foam also this is a sure sign, fill the empty pod holder with water and see how quick the water drips,I had this same issue and bought a new pod holder and compared, should be no more than 1 drop a second, you can knock the plastic out and re seat the O ring or buy a new holder, hope this is of use to you
