Take battery out and leave it out for about a week. It may reset. And take out your SIM card.
That resets my phone if it works then it works.
Good luck
first remove the battery then reinstall it, hold the 2 soft keys and the power button at the same time, do not release either, til the reformat screen appears... then press the green call button.
i had the same thing the phone has two things on it that look like dashes one on the right and one on the left hold them down tell you get a thing that says something about restetin to factory and hit the send button and make sure the phones on cahrge if anything else pops up hit yes and it should work u might have to turn it off and back on
Will it just not boot up all the way but just stops?
If so try the procedure at this link: T-mobile Dash Master Reset
If this doesn’t work then proceed to the following guide below.
The Windows Mobile installation may be corrupted.
The only way to fix that problem is by re-installing the windows software on the phone.
Plug it in, take the cover off, keep it face down, and charge it under a cool air. it may not be charging due to the battery being too hot. I had this problem.
I tried using a the google mail java app on my tmobile dash. It froze up on me, and when i turned it back on it just stays at the "tmobile" splash screen. I have tried using the soft key and power button reset but it doesnt work. What's weird is that it wont power down unless I take the battery out. It powers on, shows the tmobile splash screen, then freezes. Is there any other way to reset it or is it totally bricked? I bought it new off craiglslist so tmobile wont replace it for me cause I'm using it unlocked on cingular.
Ok bro I know I am a bit too late to help you with this problem but someone else may benefit from these directions. I see most places online only have half advice about this very common problem with T-mobile Dash.
This is what you need to do, you have to do a hard reset exactly like "reviel" mention. Also like he said timing is essential but the trick is that you need to show some patience through the process.
Note: Please read the directions completely before doing anything for better results.
Step 1: Take your battery out and shut off your phone Step 2: Press and hold the two soft key buttons. Step 3: Press and hold the power button for exact two seconds, 1001, 1002 and release, but continue to hold the two soft key buttons. Step 4: Within seconds a black screen with some text will come up asking you to confirm if you wanna delete everything; and right then you let go of your soft key buttons and press the green call button (also known as the "send key"). Step 5: You are done but not really, your job now is to find something else to do and leave your phone alone for at least 2 minutes. Eventually if you don't have a SIM in it, it will prompt you for it and you click the soft key to choose "OK"; also, it will ask you to confirm to restart and you click the soft key to chose "Done" for it.
Wait a minute for it boot up and overall it should do it.
do a sw reset....its possible it was damaged when it was dropped in the water, but not likey....
turn the phone off, press and hold the soft keys (buttons with the lines on them above the home key and back arrow key) and hold it down.....press the power button while you are doing that until the white t-mobile screen will come on, then instead of going to the green windows mobile screen, a black screen with white writing......press the green button....it will get you in your phone but it will erase your info as a result....
first take back up & then do soft reset of ur phone & check running programs at stratup path> start> settings >system tab>memory >running programs then stop unneccessary programs .
freezes up and won't do anything.
