Right rear wheel has rubbing and grinding noises, as on cast iron

Right rear wheel has rubbing and grinding noises. The noise is very loud and there is evidence of rust, on the rims. And when i took the wheel off to look i could see nothing wrong, but when i tried to put the wheel back on i found that the drum is very loose and wiggles back and forth. The anti lock brack light is on and the TCL light is on, on the dash. The car seems to roll okay and stop okay. What is the problem.

My advise is to adjust the rear brakes. The drum should not move in a side to side fashion. adjusting the brakes will also more than likely take care of that anti lock brake light also. adjust the brakes up to where the rear wheel will spin but you should be able to hear the brake show dragging slightly on the drum.

Loud metal noise from right rear wheel Volvo v70

If they're drums could be rust on the drum rubbing on the backing plate, or a loose brake component rubbing inside the drum.

I hear a loud grinding noise when i drive my car

Check front tyres & wheel bearings espesially the R/H/F. Feel tyre for high / low spots on inside & jack up & spin wheel if you get noise while jacked up it is not the tyres but wheel bearing or brake pads but more than likly a crook bearing by the sound of it. It needs to be tended to ASAP

Backing up very loud grinding like bearings

I would investigate the transfer case. By your description here it sounds as if the gears inside are worn and the drive chain inside is rubbing, causing the loud noise you hear.
