Dynex Router problem

I am having problems getting a connection with my wireless router. I have a HP laptop that is connected with Comcast for the Internet (and also have the modem through them). Whenever I try to get it to find the router it says that it's not detecting anything. Do I need to buy some other product to get the router to work or is it something that I am doing wrong? --Thanks i have a dynex wireless notebook card i do not know how to turn it on

My computer is not connecting to my Dynex wireless router. I've called my locate cable subscriber and they told me that it's a router problem. I've disconnected the router several times and it shows that...

First off, verify that you can connect to your cable modem directly. After that, hook up your Dynex wireless router and reboot your cable modem. After this, directly connect your computer to the Dynex router (using a cable). If you cannot get an Internet connection, then there is some issue with your Dynex router configuration. It's possible that there might be an IP address conflict with the cable modem. It would be best to contact support for configuring the Dynex.

If you can connect to the Internet with your computer connected directly to the Dynex router, then there must be some router configuration problem affecting your ability to connect wirelessly. You'll have to check the configuration--might be a good idea to completely reset the router and start over. If that doesn't help, you should contact Dynex customer support, as each router has its own configuration specifics. Good luck.

3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP addresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.

Wireless signal keeps dropping/dissapearing

Check my tip
Using Router and Wlan adapter from different brand (Dynex + Belkin) is sometime calling for trouble: you must configure both to be sure to be on same standard (or change Both).
I'm using Netgear + Belkin and tune is not easy
On router config check radio power, reduce the used standard (B/G A/N) to the only one used by Belkin adapter (N).
Be sure you removed Windows zero wireless configuration (= use windows to manage my connection= OFF)
edit your belking wireless networking utility to automatic reconnect:

try downgrading to G standard from router side
Check your network connection plugging your laptop to router via lan cable.and check network params (DHCP DNS etc.).
Then check wlan connection near router, if you experience wlan drops only when far from router, find any possible interferences source (Microwave, cordless, remote) remove it or be ware you cannot have wlan when your wave is working.

Dynex Router problem

You should first verify you have a internet connection to your computer directly from modem. If you do then turn your computer off unplug modem from power supply and remove ethernet connection. Then with cable only attached to modem plug in power supply. Allow enough time for modem to boot completely up. Then plug ethernet back into modem and the other end into router. Then power up router. Allow adequate time to router to sync up. If you never set up your router initially with all security features and access codes for wireless you may need to run set up disk. If this was all previously done then power up computer go to CONNECT TO option on START menu. Your wireless network should be listed with the name you gave it. Select your network. If it is a secured network it will ask for access codes. Enter the codes and you should be able to access internet. If not you may need to run set up disk again or contact manufacturer of router.Good luck

Need help with best connection type for college student in dorm

The enhaced version just give more range of signal over the normal dynex, regarding the internet provider it depends because sometimes you'll need a password and user to connect to the wireless signal. The dynex is used to connect from a cable signal (RJ-45)internet and then it will transfer the connection to wireless so it can be use from any laptop with wireless connection. So for example you DSL internet connection is a cable (RJ-45) then you connect that cable to the dynex router, then the router will automatically transmit the signal to wireless so any nearby pc can connect to it. If the laptop doesn't have wireless, then you'll have to buy a card to be able to connect to wireless signal or you could by also a (RJ-45 straight-through cable Cat 5e) to connect from one of the ports from the DYNEX to the laptop. Hope it helps.
