SOURCE: I have purchased a turntable with ez audio

You can record the entire album, both sides without having to press next. When the entire album has been recorded then press next, you will a dialog box that allows you to name the album and songs. Make sure you have the most up to date software from the ION website- that is if you have an ION turntable. Go to ION website and locate your turntable- software will be on that page. Run it and it should correct any problems.

SOURCE: No sound after multiple attempts. No sound levels changing

several people are having this trouble but most seem to work ok .. the unit has its own built in preamp and digital interface so, in this case, you dont have to worry about what cartridge it has .. in fact you can hook its rca outputs to the aux of an amplifier (not the phono input) .. or you can connect them to your amplified computer speakers thru an RCA sterio to 1/8 inch jack adapter ... i am working on a solution remotely since i dont have the unit yet ... but here is a suggestion (for xp) .. find the volume icon in the bottom right task bar .. double click on that .. that should bring up a box with several volume controls .. make sure none have "mute" checkmarked .. turn up all the controls so you cant miss anything if it comes thru ..try the table ... now click on "options" in that volume control box then "properties" then put a dot for "recording" .. select all of the volume controls in the bottom box .. now click ok .. that will give you some level controls for recording . turn them up ..then select them one at a time to see if any work (with table playing) .. if none of that works then there is likely an incompatability .. you might look for upgraded drivers for your audio card .. .. i will likely have more on this as i remotely get one working or if i can find one to play with .. maybe a few days .. some audio cards turn off sound outputs when you are in the record mode .. thats so you dont get screeching thru the mic input .. but there is usually a way to defeat that .. the units software should have done that for you .. i have found some popular laptops that horrably dont have sterio inputs (only monoral for the mic input) ... on a few that can be fixed with special software but on others (like my inspiron 6000) there is no hope ... i purchased an audio input adapter that connects to the USB port .. that gives you several analog inputs that are sterio .. your turn table's digital output doesnt need analog inputs so you are ok unless you want to use the RCA jacks as audio input ..

Behringer XENYX 2442 FX: Turntable into CD/tape IN. CD/tape OUT connected to USB device IN. Why is there no signal from mixer to the computer?

If I read correctly, you have outputs on the Behringer (CD/Tape Out) connected to inputs on the Behringer (USB Device In). Is that correct? If so, try going from CD/Tape Out directly to the computer. If not, please explain what the "USB Device In" is.
Thanks,
Rich

DV output

You can't convert a FireWire cable to a USB cable with just an adapter, or even with software.

Will not record to a usb thumb drive or a sd card

Should it? I interpret the need for Audacity or EZVinyl software to mean there's a PC involved somewhere to do the actual number crunching.

Will I need to use a pre-amp to connect my Sony ps 350 Direct Drive turntable to my computer?

You could use the tape imput/output on an amp to connect to your computer, if you have an amp for playing back the deck. Then ALL sound will either playback or record from amp to computer and your computer can playback on your amp.
If your computer uses 3.5 plugs for sound connections get these converter leads:

There is very low sound from turntable to teac

Check out if the earth connections are are good in the jack.
Are you connecting to a dedicated socket for turntables on your amp? Turntables have to have a pre-amp stage (unlike CD/Tape) before they go to the main pre-amp. If the Teac doesn't have a turntable socket, you will need to buy a pre-amp for the turntable.

L have numerous old vinyl records, 33 and 45 rpm and l would like to record them onto my computer, and don't know what is required. l was advised to find a cord to plug into the headphone plug on my amp...

Lots of advise on the web with various solutions, You can use a 1/8 jack to 1/8 jack or an adapter depending on the size of the amp jack. Some sites don't recommend this, but if you make sure your sound levels are low (PC and Input source)to start you won't blow anything. Some set ups don't need your stereo at all and software is available at various prices and quality. Check out reviews. Depending on your current set up and turntable you may need a preamp, newer ones are built in. You can get USB equipment like turntable with usb and RCA inputs to make it a little easier and 1/8 line in jack to connect other equipment like a tape player(about $100.00). Be cautious about the software, lots make promises that they can't keep. Cheap is as cheap gets. EZVinyl converter and ITunes is troublesome, Audacity is complex for advanced users. Try LPRIPPER.COM its expensive but I've heard good things and you can download a trial. Lots of How to sites can be Googled. Read a few, they all don't always consider everything you might find useful.

Unwanted recording overlays

Hey black fender start person, I'm genuinely sorry for sounding patronising and 'of the applemac-fool-mockery crew'. The needle-on-the-record is acting as a wall mic. I don't know about the ez software, but I'm guessing there are default settings in there somewhere, in tools/options or suchlike.
Have a look at the mic settings you might be able to apply some pleasing preset.
good luck :)
