I have installed some time ago an Onkyo 605 Home Theatre Amp for one of my clients, this has been working fine until recently. Zone 1 is now toattaly dead, no audio from any inputs.... Any ideas?
If the settings are correct, then it is just like the 605 I had, its broken. Get one made by someone else if the warranty has expired on it. I suggest Pioneer.

Hello, I am sorry about your issue. Have you tried all of the HDMI inputs on the receiver? How long are the cables? What are your sources? Please contact us at 800-229-1687 option #3 so that we can troubleshoot with you. Thank you, Onkyo USA
on your directv box, go to menu, setup, setup again, then audio, then dolby digital on the right and turn it on. assuming you have an optical audio cable from your sat box to your onkyo.
are you using HDMI cables or component. First I would try unplugging the composite and component video cables while the receiver is off. Plug them back in and turn it back on. If that does'nt work try setting the receiver to factory default and redo the settings. You can find how to reset to default in your user manual.
Make sure your receiver is hooked up to proper AM and FM antennae. Try switching to AM, scan stations. If you hear AM static and/or weak signals the problem could be antennas are not hooked up. FM has AFT which blocks out weak or noisey stations and you wont hear anything without ant.
I fixed my subwoofer. The resistor at R16 (right next to the fuse) was the fried component. I removed it and replaced it with a 13K ohm 5 watt metal oxide resistor (from Mouser Electronics if not available locally). Works fine now. I got the solution and the circuit schematic from an audio hobbiest at diyAudio.com. This is, evidently, a fairly common problem.
