You will have to replace the RCA cables on your turntable. You can try to do this yourself, however soldering experience is required. You can purchase the parts HERE - and install yourself, or try to find a reputable service center area to replace the cables.

A word of advice, try not to use the original RCA cables that are installed with the turntables, as they aren't of the greatest quality. Try and put a better brand, or use the MOGAMI cables, available HERE. FYI, Serato requires a nice strong signal coming from your turntables. The Technics 1200/1210s were not made to provide such a signal to a digital unit. So, upgrading the cables to the MOGAMI's will help out significantly. I would suggest doing the same to both turntables, just so you have a nice balanced signal coming from both turntables.

Have fun!

Technics SL-1210: I'm getting tons of feedback from my mixer when the Red (Right) RCA is plugged in?

Remove the red and it goes quiet? Put the red into the left channel, what happens? Put the left plug into the right right socket, what happens? Put everything back to the feedback, power off and remove the turntable cartridge, what happens?

This proves whether it is the cable or the internal electronics of the amp, or the wiring further up to the stylus cartridge.

you are the only one with the issue

My technics 1210 is giving out an un-balanced signal

Hi, most likely the cartridge is shot. If you have a second cart try that on the unit and see if it makes a difference. Other possible causes are the stylus tip is damaged on one side or the output cable or rca connections may be loose. Cheers John. Styluscity, com

I have a technics turntable , started only working thru one channel. is this likely to be a cartridge issue?

Hi, likely but not the only cause. Check fly leads from cart to headshell.also.  You can check continuity between tonearm connection and rca's. [email protected]

Poor quality sound

Double check all your cables. The only 2 things that affect sound on the 1200s is the RCA cables and the tonearm. I would first replace the RCA cables to a better quality set.

You need a belt.. Lift up the record support..(platter) Underneath you will see a metal post.. Belt goes around that and the bottom of the plate.(there is a rim) . If the belt is there, motor might be bad..
