Hi there,

I only have 3 suggestions.

1st one is to make sure the ssid is not similar to other routers you are using on your profile. ie.(change it to a unique name)

2nd is to make sure you check the box that says broadcast your ssid.

3rd check to make sure you select the router as an access point and not adhoc or infrastructure option. Finally you can try to change the channels eg. i like channel 3 b/c it doesnt interfere with any phone lines.

good luck

smeags.

Goto your computer and click on start, the goto run, then type in ipconfig at the command prompt.

Write down the GATEWAY ip address as this is the Linksys router ip.

Now open up Internet explorer and type in the GATEWAY ip that you just wrote down.

You will be prompted with a username and pw screen/box. Factory default username is admin with pw is just blank(not the word blank but just nothing entered as the pw), or admin as the pw.

If you're lucky you should be able to manually configure the router without the config cd. If not, I have had this issue before and you will have to contact linksys for a replcement CD as some routers do require install cd since manual setup just doesn't work for some reason.

You should not need the cd - if you connect the Router to your PC with an ethernet cable then you can access your router to setup the wireless configuration. You can find all the necessary downloads & upgrades for your Router, together with Installation guides etc.here:

I have a linksys wireless g device,it was windows XP setup disk, now i upgrade to windows 7,but i failed to setup my wireless g? where can i have the windows 7 setup supports?

Linksys claims that all or their routers are compatible with Windows 7. You don't need the CD to setup the router. Open your browser and type in : 192.168.1.1
In the pop up box, leave the username blank and type in "admin" (without the quotes) for the password. Or use the username and password that you may have configured at an earlier time. Usually you can just select "setup" in the left sidebar and go from there.

You may have to do a hard reset on the router. Look for a very small button on the router, usually on the side or back. Press the reset button with an ink pin or similar object while the router is powered ON until the lights start flashing. The router is now returned to factory settings, like it just came new out of the box.

If you are having trouble go here: http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/lbc/WRT54G
to download the user guide for your router. If you turn the router over you will see a sticker that has the model number and version. You'll need the version # to get the correct user manual. It will give you the info you need to setup the router.
Also, if you are still having problems, it may be that the wireless adapter is not compatible with Windows 7. You will need to go to the manufacturer's website and download the Windows 7 drivers (IF they are available.)
Please post back if you need further assistance.

The installation CD is saying it is not compatible with windows 7

Don't connect at the USB port. Use an ethernet cable and connect your computer at any available port at the back panel of the Linksys. Use your favorite browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla or Chrome) and type at the address bar 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.0.1 and hit enter. In case you will be asked for user / password the defaults are admin / admin. With this procedure you will connect to the router and make any settings you'd like.

I need to download it i lost the disc

First, please check the Windows Hardware and Software compatibility list to assure your device is appropriate for the OS you are using. If you are not using Windows 7, you will find links at the site to other supported OS. Here is the link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

Here is the link to the company: http://www.westell.com/

Good luck with your device.

I need a driver for my linksys wireless router wrt150n for a windows 7 operatimg system the disc i got with it is not compatible with windows 7. Please help

You really do NOT need a driver for your router (Routers do not have drivers.) All the CD contains is a setup wizard and the User Guide.

Go to Linksys' webpage here and look into the FAQ's. There are some articles on how to setup your router with Windows 7. You can also download the user guide (under Downloads) and follow the steps outlined in Chapter 5.

If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.
