Somewhere inside it there will be small back up memory battery on the motherboard. This hold the memory when you power off. They make a lot of products so don't just buy blindly without checking first. It should be a small battery like a CR2032 Button Cell, the same as a computer.
Sounds like you encrypted the drive. Under Computer, right click the drive and format it. You will lose all your data and there is no way around this. Write your password down somewhere if you can't remember it.
On most fire alarm panels there are normally open and normally closed relays that will change state in the event of a fire. The negative power line can be ran through these relays to allow the maglock to be powered down in the event of a fire. The relay on the fire panel may need to be programmed to do this or it may come programmed by default which is usually the case. Hope this helps.
