using the dubbing button on your recorder will recorder from your cd player on the right side of the deck to the cdr recorder on your left side..the left side of the deck is the cd recorder...hope it helps...just place a cd disc on the right side and a blank cd on the left side push dubbing button and wait till the left side reads the song on the recorder cd on the right

The changer is fubar and repair is not cost effective.

My guess is that the laser inside the device is not functioning, i.e., it's not melting anything onto the recordable-media.

Spend $40, and buy a new CD/DVD reader/writer.
There's no way to (economically) try to fix a "bad" CD-writer.

If there is a tiny hole somewhere near the tray you need to poke a needle or something like that in there to open the tray.

Spin motor or pickup is bad. Replace the unit. Expence to repair for this age machine not practical.

laser failure on the recording side is very common on marantz and philips cd recorders.
they're well known for it.
so it's most definately the laser in your case.

is this the 360 cause i have never heard of a loose tray, try to take it back to where you bought it.

Is the motor spinning to try to open the drawer?Can you hear it? Can you get something under the tray edge to try to 'help' it out when pressing eject?

You power off then power back on while holding down the fast forward and rewind buttons on the recording side simultaneously. The display moves through a sequence of numbers and the trays will then open.
